Who Am I - Or
How I Got To Where I Am Today
I was born in Virginia to Texas
parents who moved back to Texas when I was 3. Even though I was
raised in Texas, I have always considered myself a Virginian.
I received a BS degree in Food Science and Technology from Texas
A&M and was not ready to leave so stayed several more years and
received a BS in Mechanical Engineering. Thought about staying and
getting a degree in each of the colleges but was tired of being
a poor college student.
I worked as a civilian engineer with the Air Force, working on small
gas turbine engines for 6 years in San Antonio where I met Paul,
my husband to be. We decided we had contracted with each other before
coming to this earth plane as I had always been looking for some
one with the same stride length as mine (which he has, though not
something I would base a marriage on) and for the last several years
he had been looking for some one with red hair (I had just dyed
my hair Auburn before we meet). Paul was also born in Virginia to
Texas parents. It was almost a given to me that my husband would
be from Virginia, but it was not something I automatically checked
with the guys I went out with.
1990 was a major year for me. Every month something major happened.
During this time 5 of my Aunts and Uncles died, both my parents
died (my dad died when Paul and I were on our way back from our
honeymoon), my future father-in-law at the time died, Paul was laid
off, I sold my house in one day (closed in 2 weeks), moved twice,
had a doctor that pretty much accused me of having cancer (I finally
decided he was just trying to see how deep my pockets were and I
dropped him. Now many years later I am still doing great) and Paul
and I got married. After that year Paul and I moved north to the
Austin TX area.
While in the Austin area, my allergies just got worst and worst
until I developed seasonal Asthma. I was on inhalers most of the
year and could only breath well from April - June. I tried allergy
shots for several years to no avail. Also during this time I fainted
one Sunday at church. That really scared me because it wasn't like
in the movies where the woman comes around and can immediately sit
up and walk around. No, when you faint like that, you cannot sit
up for 4-5 hours as you are too light headed and likely to faint
again. I had a 3 year old at the time and worried about fainting
and being incapacitated for the rest of the day. We were living
out in the country at the time with no neighbors close by which
made it worst. I developed panic attacks. So between the panic attacks
and the Asthma I was in bad shape.
A friend, seeing my struggle with the asthma suggested some one
in Austin who did allergy elimination using Nambudripad's Allergy
Elimination Techniques (NAET). This method uses muscle testing to
determine the allergy then acupressure to eliminate the allergy.
(To fine out more go to www.naet.com).
It took 3 months to talk myself into giving it a try. I finally
reasoned it did not cost much for one treatment after which I would
decide to proceed or not.
The 1st thing I was treated for was lactose intolerance. I had never
considered that to be an allergy. My lactose intolerance was so
bad that if I took a Tablespoon of milk I would be in the bathroom
for three hours with what my family terms the "screaming squirts".
After my treatment, it took 3 days to build up courage to try some
milk products. I ate tacos for dinner with sour cream and cheese
and just had a little gas. The next week I reported back and was
told the cheese had fallen out and was retreated for the cheese.
Now there was no reaction. I was sold. The treatment for grasses
cleared my asthma.
I have never been so allergy free in my life as I am today. I have
led others to the Allergy
Elimination Clinic in Austin for lactose intolerance
and then had an ice cream party afterwards. I was so impressed by
the method and results I wanted to find out more.
From Amazon I ordered Dr. Devi S. Nambudripad's book Say Good-Bye to Illness.
On Amazon there is a section that says "Those who bought
this book also bought…." In that section was a book titled "Instant
Emotional Healing" by Peter Lambrou, Ph.D. and George Pratt, Ph.D.
Since I was still having panic attacks, I ordered that book also.
From that book I found www.emofree.com. Using techniques from the
book and the website I was able to make major strides.
I became so interested in EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques) I wanted
to go to a workshop. I chose one in Orlando, FL. This would be my
first big test. I would fly to Orlando by myself. Spend 5 days in
seminars in a strange place with strange people all major panic
triggers. I did great! No problem going up there, even having to
wait for 2 hours in the rental car line for my car. Did great all
week, only had a few twinges in the airport on the way home. I labeled
myself well mended.
Today I do not have panic attacks. I have attended other workshops
to learn more of this fabulous technique that is so versatile and
easy to use. I have helped many people with various problems such
as back pain, knee pain, anger, anxiety, smoking cessation, various
phobias such as ants, flying, height and spiders. EFT is a wonderful
state-of-the-art tool and easy to learn and use. You may ask "if
it is so easy to learn, why do I need to hire some one to lead me
through it?" Often an unbiased 3rd person can see things that you
don't realize are going on. If I had some one to work with me on
my panic attacks I do believe I would have gotten over them sooner.
I do encourage you to go to www.emofree.com
and down load the free manual or order some of the DVD's.
Try it for yourself or seek help from me or one of the other practitioners
you find listed. Good Tapping.
