In my struggles with abundance, I have two mentors. Neither knows that is what they are to me, but whenever I am sliding into the black hole of worry, I think of them.

One is my next-door neighbor. We have deep conversations across the fence or on the front porch. He is one of those few people who does not worry about where the money is coming from to pay next months bills. He knows it will show up. When things start getting tight, he will suddenly get 4 job offers out of the blue. He lets life happen and lives in the now. His lemons turn into lemonade. Once when money was tight, His car was run into. Most people would think “Oh No, more problems”. But the proceeds from the insurance claim covered all the car repairs and medical bills with money left over for the monthly bills. We have many over the fence conversations about abundance and life.

The second is a friend who experienced what he calls his “Miracle Year”. One year when he was young, he took off to see the world. All he had with him was his backpack. He said it was difficult at first, but when the fear finally left, the miracles started happening. He tells about a time when he was sitting on a sidewalk trying to fix something on his backpack and thought “I wish I had some scissors” then he glance beside him and there were a pair of scissors laying there. He said things like that kept happening. That is not to say that difficulties did not happen. He tells of arriving in Beirut and started walking towards town, not wondering why everyone seemed to be headed the other way. A car stopped and some one grabbed him and pulled him in. They had guns and took him to an old building and started to interrogate him. They were under the impression he must have been working for the US Government (CIA, spy) if he was headed toward town. My friend decided if he was going to die, he was going to enjoy himself and started joking with them. They finally decided he did not know anything and after some more shows of force they took him back to where they found him and pushed him out of the car. I think he should write a book about his experiences.

What have I learned for these two men? That fear keeps the miracles from happening. That fear stifles abundance. That is why I deal with fears in its different forms in my newsletters at naturallyresilient.com.  EFT is great for keeping fears and worry at bay.
