A Cry from the Womb – Book Review Sunday

A Cry from the Womb: Healing the Heart of the World: A Guide to Healing and Helping Souls Return to the Light After Sudden Death, Miscarriage, Stillbirth or Abortion by Gwendolyn Awen Jones, is a great book for those (including men) who have lost a child through sudden death, miscarriage, stillbirth or abortion. Gwen is totally nonjudgmental but is writing from her heart in an effort to provide hope and help to those involved. This is a very private matter and Gwen handles it with in-depth understanding having had losses herself.
I know the author and knew about one of her losses but had no idea about the other traumatic events. But in this book she opens up and tells of all the anguish and heart ache that she has held hidden inside.
Gwen is a medical intuitive, spiritual teacher and healer. In her work she strives to bring peace and healing and in this book she strives for the same thing. She is very concerned with the Soul: the soul of the child involved and the soul of the adults affected.
If you are in pain and hurting due to the loss of a child, this book can be a great comfort.
Live In the Now

Have you noticed that when you have bought a new car all of a sudden you see hundreds of that same car and color on the road? Or when you are expecting, every woman you see looks pregnant. Well the same thing is happening to me. No I am not pregnant nor have I bought a new car, but a new idea has been introduced to me and I am seeing it every where. I have heard that when an idea presents itself to you in 3 different ways that you need to sit up and take notice because it is the truth.
What is this great truth? It is living in the now. It has really been brought home to me through Eckhart Tolle’s book The Power of Now: A Guide to Spiritual Enlightenment. But I keep bumping into the concept. Just last Sunday I ran into this reading Job. Job is a character who loses everything but his nagging wife. He has even lost his health. Three friends come to commiserate with him and give their ill advice. A 4th person pops in and puts his 2 cents in (I think he had the best advice) then God interrupts and says to be content and to basically live in the now. That is what I read. Read it yourself, it’s in the Bible.
If you live in the now, even in your misery, you have the chance to feel the river of life, that life giving force that runs through all things. If you can feel that flow of contentment and energy, you will feel hope. If you feel hope, you will be more positive. If you become more positive, the law of attraction will accommodate and things will get better.
The alternative is to dwell in your misery and your “poor me” attitude and live on the surface, never feeling the flow of life that is always there. If you live in the misery at the surface you are actually stifling the flow. If the flow is stifled you will attract more that will stifle the flow. The law of attraction works both ways.
This Sunday’s book review is a classic: Norman Vincent Peale, The Power of Positive Thinking.
The idea of positive thinking is not new. It was not new when Norman Peale wrote his book in 1952. I may mention some of the earlier books at some point. But this book put the whole notion that you can control your life by your attitude into the limelight. Mr. and Mrs. Peale both realized that you had to be positive in whatever situation you were in or you ran the risk of never rising above that situation.
Can you think of anyone who seems to be stuck in their life? Are they positive people? You may counter that they were positive until they ran into a string of ‘bad luck’. But how long did they hold on to that positive attitude when the ‘bad luck’ hit? I bet they soon let it go and became disillusioned, disappointed, humiliated, frustrated, and angry and started showing any number of negative traits. Mr. Peale addresses what to do when you are in personal problems and how to overcome the negative thoughts that abound at such times. We all have runs of hard times but that doesn’t mean you throw out the positive.
I must warn you that Mr. Peale does have a strong faith and talks much about the use of prayer. I have used prayer myself and had great results.
Even though this book was written almost 60 years ago (all of a sudden I feel old) it still contains great advice. This is the forerunner to the Law of Attraction craze and I highly recommend it for its down to earth methods of dealing with attracting happiness and abundance into your life.
Moments Of Grace

It’s book review Sunday!
This is a book I have read several times. Every once in a while I need a pick-me-up and this book is the ticket. Neale Donald Walsch the author of Conversations with God did a great job with Moments of Grace: When God Touches Our Lives Unexpectedly
. Actually he did very little writing in this book, he is relaying stories others sent him about their personal experiences.
In Neale’s own words “This book is about moments in our lives when God steps in and gives us a great big hug….. These are stories about real life and real people. Folks sent them to me. Because I asked them to. I wanted to know if my experience of God was really so different from everyone else’s, or if, as I suspected, we all are having pretty much the same experience, but I’m the only one who’s talking about it. Or one of the very few.”
I have read stories out of this book to people who come to me questioning the meaning of life and those who wonder if miracles happen. I also tell them a few of my own stories. Yes there is purpose to all this! Yes there is a guiding light or energy out there!
If you don’t want to buy it, at least check it out of the library. But I bet you will want to own it after you read it.
Angels are Here to Help You

This Sunday’s book review is on Healing With The Angels
by Doreen Virtue, Ph.D.
I have a copy of this book and I often pull it off my bookshelf to consult it. I have Post-it flags marking special pages through out the book.
Some of my flagged pages include:
Prayer to Archangel Michael for Increased Energy – Most of us can use that one.
Another page marks a prayer to the Angels for cravings for unhealthful foods and drinks.
How about a prayer for Increased business Opportunities,
Here is a good one, stress management. Not only do I have that page flagged but I also have some of it highlighted. My highlighted words of wisdom are “All pressure is self imposed” “Stress is of our own choosing” and further down the page is some good advice “…the importance of setting our intentions for the day, first thing in the morning. Decide, ‘What do I want today to be like’ and it will be done”(page 73)
But what I mainly use the book for is the Number Sequences from the Angels in Chapter 12.
One day I was in my kitchen feeling very mad and upset about how badly things were going, dwelling on the negative so to speak. I glanced at the clock on the stove it said 11:11, I looked at the Microwave, and it said 11:11. I decided to get Doreen’s book. The sequence of ones says to “Monitor your thoughts carefully, and be sure to only think about what you want, not what you don’t want. … The 111 is like the bright light of a flashbulb. It means that the universe has just taken a snapshot of your thoughts and is manifesting them into form. Are you pleased with what thoughts the universe has captured?” Boy I changed my thoughts right then, I did not want more of the negative in my life.
I’ll give one more example. Last February, I was going through a dark night of the soul episode. I was firmly rooted in a scarcity mentality and was about to throw in the towel on my own business dream and look for a low paying job. I just could not see how the bills would get paid for the next month. My husband gave me a pep talk and convinced me to work harder on my business. The next morning when I got up I weighed myself and the numbers showed back at me 122.2. I had never seen so many twos in a row; in fact I had not weighed that little before or since. So I decided to look in chapter 12 of this book.
Doreen says that three 2’s in a row means “Your newly planted ideas are beginning to grow into reality. Keep watering and nurturing them, and soon they will push through the soil so you can see evidence of your manifestation. In other words, don’t quit five minutes before the miracle. Your manifestation is soon going to be evident to you, so keep up the good work! Keep holding positive thoughts, keep affirming. And continue visualizing.” Wow, that was the positive reinforcement that I needed. I did have the best year that I have ever had with my business and things are still happening.
Recently I have been seeing fives in sequence. Waking in the middle of the night and seeing 5:55 on the clock, things like that. Doreen indicates that this means a major life change is upon me. This has me a little nervous (review my articles about change).
This is a very interesting and useful book for me and I think it will be for you too.
The Rules of The Game

A couple of weeks ago you learned how to find your passions with The Passion Test. Then last week you learned how to manifest what you really desire with I’m Rich Beyond My Wildest Dreams. This week I am introducing a book that changes all the rules of the game. Busting Loose From the Money Game: Mind-Blowing Strategies for Changing the Rules of a Game You Can’t Win
by Robert Scheinfeld is a revolutionary book about the way things really work. This book goes a step beyond the Law of Attraction.
Where the Law of Attraction still works within a frame work of game rules that we (human kind) have agreed to on a subconscious level, Busting Loose tells you how to change the rules altogether. When you are free from the constraints of the rules you start to create your own rules. I am not talking about break the law type rules. These rules are at a much deeper level. Many of them sound familiar to the Law of Attraction crowd:
There is a limited supply of money
Money flows in and out and is separate from you so that you have to go out and get it.
You must work harder or smarter to increase your supply of money
Even though the Law of Attraction also refutes these rules, Robert Scheinfeld takes it a step further. He explains how this game is designed so that you can’t win and that is why you must change the rules. Robert Scheinfeld shows how none of the beliefs and assumptions that are the basis for these money rules are true.
Then he leads you through the land of OZ where you will see that this is not just a Money Game but a Human Game. The steps for creating the new rules is explained in this very interesting easy to read book. Maybe these are the changes that will be coming to the human race in 2012 and beyond and it can start with you if you read this book.
Learn How to Manifest Your Desires

I have a great book for those who are trying to figure out how to manifest.
I’m Rich Beyond My Wildest Dreams–I Am. I Am. I Am.: How to Get Everything You Want in Life
By Thomas L Pauley and Penelope J. Pauley. This book leads you through their story on manifesting their desires.
After I read this book, I was having a discussion about the law of attraction with a friend and she commented that she did not have a clue about how to go about manifesting. So I loaned her this book.
Boy was she good at it. At the time of our discussion, she was living in a very small 3 bedroom 1 bath rental with herself and 5 children one of which was severely handicapped. She had spent Christmas at the hospital that year with the severely handicapped child and lamented the fact that she did not have a husband that could help her with all of this.
After she read the book she found a man and they fell is love. This new love in her life took her to see a ‘for sale by owner’ house. She said she had never considered looking in the ‘for sale by owner’ section of the paper. She fell in love with this house. It was an ultra modern 1950 style, lots of glass, lots of rock. It had 5 bedrooms, three bathrooms, a two car garage, various tool and garden sheds and a separate office/cottage with its own half bath. She couldn’t believe her good fortune. The house was easily three times bigger than her present rental. She worked the numbers and figured she could pay for it even after they got married and her love took a year out to go to school. That was almost 3 years ago and she is still enjoying her house, her husband and her new life.
Depression Removes Your Passion

Yesterday I talked about passion and how every one must live their passion.
I can think about one group of people who do not have passion — they have lost it. It reminds me of the Golden Compass where every one had an animal familiar attached to them but when the familiar was “detached” from them they were lost, incapacitated, did not know what to do. To me that describes a depressed person because they have lost their passion.
I can talk about this because I went through a year of depression myself. It is difficult. You do not see any sense in life. No activity really makes sense. There is no hope.
In my case the cause was unacknowledged anger. I did a lot of self-help and inner child work at that time because I remembered feeling different and knew I could feel different. I finally stumbled on a section in a workbook that said to write a letter to some one you are mad at. I could not think of any one but decided to write a letter to some one who just popped into my mind. There is a reason things pop into your mind at specific times.
I did not know I had so much pent up anger. But boy did I feel good afterwards. I did 5 loads of laundry, cleaned two bathrooms, mopped the floor and went for a walk!
It is funny, even though the depression had left, I still felt like the depression was the truth and the life I was now living was a lie. It was almost like a wet blanket was thrown over the smoldering coals, but the coals were still smoldering. It did take several more years to totally smother those burning coals.
I did not know about EFT or Meridian Tapping at that time. If I had I believe the depression would have left faster with no smoldering coals below the surface.
If you have depression, check out my website and book a session. Depression is one of those deep issues that may take more than one session. www.naturallyresilient.com

The Bible in the energy medicine world is Donna Eden’s book “Energy Medicine”. This is a must have for anyone serious about energy work. I have read through the book and then tabbed various sections and refer back to them often.
Since I have incorporated her meridian tracing into my morning routine, when I give blood it goes much faster than it use to. Before, 3 people would come and go in the chair next to me while my bag was filling but after tracing meridians for several weeks I was like the normal people around me, in and out in a jiffy.
Donna Eden covers all types of things. Not only the meridians but also The Aura, Celtic Weave, Basic Grid, Five Rhythms, Strange Flows and of course the Chakras. She also list Acupuncture Tapping Points and it is interesting to see how these differ from the EFT points I learned.
This is a very good book and I cannot emphasize enough that you need this book if you are doing any serious energy work.
Your Passion is Your Inner Power

Where does inner power come from?
I believe it comes from your passion. Your passion is your strength as it can move mountains. Don’t tell me that Napoleon did not have a passion. It might have been a misplaced passion to conquer the world, but he had a passion. All the great people we admire had a great passion for what they did. Mother Teresa felt compassion and developed a passion to help the unfortunates in Calcutta.
Did you notice how the word compassion has passion in it? I believe that is not a coincidence.
Passions can develop and change. What you were passionate about when young may be totally different 20 years later so it is always good to review your passions. If you are at a lost to what your passions are get a copy of “The Passion Test” . This book will help you discover who you are and what your passions are. If you know your passions, you are halfway to discovering your destiny and changing the world.
