Spring in Central Texas

Posted by: Ann

March 23rd, 2010 >> Change, Life, Physical/Material

Spring is here! At least according to the calendar. The bluebonnets are starting to bloom. There is suppose to be a good crop this year because of all the rain.

We had a very cold and wet winter in Central Texas. We had several snow flurries and then a nice snow that actually stuck around for a whole day! The cats did not like the snow. Only one actually ventured out into it and he was our long haired cat – the one whose protein went to make fur instead of brains. But it was pretty to look at and play in. We did have a short show ball fight just so we could say that we played in it.

My son, who claims he likes the cold, sure did spend a lot of time indoors this winter even during the snow day. When I was a teenager living south of Houston, we had a 4 inch snow. I spent most of the day outside in it. I only came in to defrost my toes and nose. I remember that school was cancelled only because the busses would not start.

If you live in a cold climate which sees more than its fair share of snow, I guess you are not as mesmerized by the white stuff. But down here it is always out of the ordinary.

I guess I should not be too quick to say that winter is over. Three years ago we had a 5” snow fall the night before Easter! That was fun. People were building snow bunnies in their yards.

Book of Afformations – Book Review Sunday

March 21st, 2010 >> Books, Change, Manifesting

The Great Little Book of Afformations (All-New, Expanded Edition) by Noah St. John and Denise Berard is a fast read with only 165 short pages (literally small) but this book can make a big difference in your life. Are you someone who has tried affirmations and they just did not seem to work for you? I was one of those. After reading this book, I tried writing and saying my own business afformations. In about 2 weeks, I received a call out of the blue from someone I had never met with a business opportunity. Wow this really worked. As with all affirmations and law of attraction techniques, you must act on the opportunity when it is presented. But the opportunity is the gate that swings open for you.

Is it bothering you that I say affirmation sometimes and afformations other times? This is on purpose. The author wants to distinguish what he does as being different from the standard affirmation so he calls his afformations.

Affirmations are positive statements we say to ourselves. Afformations are the positive questions we ask ourselves. The premise is that we are always asking ourselves questions and our mind is constantly trying to find the answers. Think about it. When you have a pain you ask yourself “why does my knee hurt?” we don’t just think “my knee hurts”. If we do think the statement, the question quickly follows and the mind will go and try to find reasons for the knee to hurt thereby giving you more knee pain and more reasons to hurt.

If we phrase the questions correctly we can get faster and more positive results. This book ask us to switch our thinking around and ask “why does my knee feel good” or even “why does my body treat me so well” or “why do I take such good care of myself”. This gives our mind a different question to answer and the positive results will follow.

Give this great little book to try and reap the resulting benefits.

The Celestine Prophecy – Book Review Sunday

Posted by: Ann

March 7th, 2010 >> Change, Energy, Life, Relationship

I am venturing into the fiction department for today’s book review. Although this book is fiction, there is a lot of truth in the book. James Redfield has a lot of insight into human nature and where humanity is going and in The Celestine Prophecy
he puts this insight to use through ‘insights’. The book goes into the coincidences that help shape our lives. But the main thrust of the book is the 9 insights, each one building on the other. I won’t tell you what they are here but I will tell you of the one that made the most impression on me.

The fifth insight talks about clearing the past. This involves looking at your childhood and how your parents acted and reacted. By looking at what each of your parents stood for you can determine your own life work. The Celestine Prophecy states “Every human being, whether they are conscious of it or not illustrates with their lives how he or she thinks a human being is supposed to live”. In the book the main character’s father believed that life was for fun and enjoyment but he had not been able to actually succeed in that area. The character’s mother stood for Christian principles. He was then asked what he would change about his mother and father. This is an important question as that ends up being what he is here to accomplish. To quote the book again, “That’s why you were born there: to take a higher perspective on what they stood for. Your path is about discovering a truth that is a higher synthesis of what these two people believed.” This led the main character to realize he would find real meaning in his life through combining the two approaches to life.

This got me thinking about my life and my parents. Now I feel much clearer on what I am to do in this life. It was a very interesting exercise. The whole book is like this. It introduces different insights into where we are individually and as a world society but it tells it through a fun read as a fiction story.

March 4th, 2010 >> Change, EFT, Manifesting, Relationship

I have some EFT events I wanted to mention.

Are you looking for your soul mate? March 27, 2010, 9:00am – 3:00pm I am holding a workshop to help you clear the energy and allow the law of attraction to work in attracting your soul mate. Lunch and snacks will be provided. I am nailing down all the logistics and cost this week. If you are interested in attending, keep watching this site or better yet sign up for my monthly tapping routine at www.naturallyresilient.com and stay informed on all the events and special offers I will be presenting.

March 11, 2010 I will be doing a free EFT demonstration at the Belton Senior Center. I have had a lot of success with removing and reducing pain and I hope to show some of these people a way they can manage their pain.
If any one reading this is in the Belton TX area, drop by the Belton Senior Center March 11, I will be there from 10 to 11 am. I hope to make this into a weekly or every other week event.

This Month or This Moment

March 2nd, 2010 >> Change, Life

Yesterday was the first of the month. That can imply all kinds of things. First there is the start of a new month, a new beginning, a new try at things. Then there is the first of the month when all the bills are due and all the paperwork must be done or other words to be dreaded.

The start of every week is kind of like a mini month. Monday I pay the weeks worth of bills that were not paid with the horde at the 1st of the month. Monday also gives me a new start. If last week was not that great I get a new chance.
Well I could break this down even farther. Every day is a new beginning and at this daily rate, I may not even have any bills to pay. It is just getting better. What about every hour. That can be a new beginning a new try at things. Thinking that every hour is a new beginning I would never have bad day again as I would have a new try, a new start every hour.

Why limit it to that what about every minute, every second, NOW.
Now you are living in the now. This is where you can feel the energy flow and can really start to experience life.

Enjoy your now, over and over and over and over and over again.

The Advancement of the Human Race

February 23rd, 2010 >> Change, Life, Reincarnation, Spirituality

I have been thinking about the spiritual growth of humanity. Are we really growing and improving? After watching the evening news I am inclined to say not.

However the news shows what is unusual so if something shows up on the news that means it is out of the ordinary or does not normally happen. In other words, since the news always seems to show the bad of humanity that implies that the good is normal and commonplace. This gives me hope, maybe we are truly growing and improving.

I also have another way of looking at humanity through the ages. I believe in reincarnation. Each of us has lived multiple lives. There are certain experiences we all have gone through or will go through. These experiences lead to the growth of the soul and ultimately the growth of humanity. Such experiences are:
• We have all died in war
• We all are attacked
• We have all been attackers
• We have starved to death
• We have abused power
• We have all been abused

If we had no conflict or hardships we would be comfortable where we are and would have no reason to change or grow. Comfort means the status quo and there is no change. When we are challenged we have to develop new reasons, new beliefs and new ideologies so we can once more be comfortable in mind and then comfortable in body. Sometimes we have to go through a traumatic event in a series of lives. Each life is trying to work it out, or come to terms with what is happening. When we finally decide how to deal with it and can incorporate it into our soul we can move on to something else.

Each of these major events in our lives has left an imprint on our soul. We have changed, we have grown. This can only lead to a change in humanity as a whole. We can even look back through recorded history and see how our ideas and beliefs have changed and how we have grown. I have hope that soon we all will have experienced war enough to decide we don’t need it any more.

Angels are Here to Help You

This Sunday’s book review is on Healing With The Angels
by Doreen Virtue, Ph.D.

I have a copy of this book and I often pull it off my bookshelf to consult it. I have Post-it flags marking special pages through out the book.
Some of my flagged pages include:
Prayer to Archangel Michael for Increased Energy – Most of us can use that one.
Another page marks a prayer to the Angels for cravings for unhealthful foods and drinks.
How about a prayer for Increased business Opportunities,
Here is a good one, stress management. Not only do I have that page flagged but I also have some of it highlighted. My highlighted words of wisdom are “All pressure is self imposed” “Stress is of our own choosing” and further down the page is some good advice “…the importance of setting our intentions for the day, first thing in the morning. Decide, ‘What do I want today to be like’ and it will be done”(page 73)

But what I mainly use the book for is the Number Sequences from the Angels in Chapter 12.

One day I was in my kitchen feeling very mad and upset about how badly things were going, dwelling on the negative so to speak. I glanced at the clock on the stove it said 11:11, I looked at the Microwave, and it said 11:11. I decided to get Doreen’s book. The sequence of ones says to “Monitor your thoughts carefully, and be sure to only think about what you want, not what you don’t want. … The 111 is like the bright light of a flashbulb. It means that the universe has just taken a snapshot of your thoughts and is manifesting them into form. Are you pleased with what thoughts the universe has captured?” Boy I changed my thoughts right then, I did not want more of the negative in my life.

I’ll give one more example. Last February, I was going through a dark night of the soul episode. I was firmly rooted in a scarcity mentality and was about to throw in the towel on my own business dream and look for a low paying job. I just could not see how the bills would get paid for the next month. My husband gave me a pep talk and convinced me to work harder on my business. The next morning when I got up I weighed myself and the numbers showed back at me 122.2. I had never seen so many twos in a row; in fact I had not weighed that little before or since. So I decided to look in chapter 12 of this book.

Doreen says that three 2’s in a row means “Your newly planted ideas are beginning to grow into reality. Keep watering and nurturing them, and soon they will push through the soil so you can see evidence of your manifestation. In other words, don’t quit five minutes before the miracle. Your manifestation is soon going to be evident to you, so keep up the good work! Keep holding positive thoughts, keep affirming. And continue visualizing.” Wow, that was the positive reinforcement that I needed. I did have the best year that I have ever had with my business and things are still happening.

Recently I have been seeing fives in sequence. Waking in the middle of the night and seeing 5:55 on the clock, things like that. Doreen indicates that this means a major life change is upon me. This has me a little nervous (review my articles about change).

This is a very interesting and useful book for me and I think it will be for you too.

People Don’t Want You to Change

February 12th, 2010 >> Change, Life, Relationship

Did you see the Beetle Bailey cartoon last Sunday? Sarge decides he is going to be nice to his troops for the day. His troops seem to like the new Sarge but everyone sees that there is something wrong with him. Sarge is not acting like Sarge so he must be sick and he ends up in a padded cell.

Have you ever tried to change something major about your life and met resistance from those around you?

I tried to do that in High School. I did not like who I was at the time and wanted to change but no one took me seriously. I had to wait until College when I moved away to a place where no one knew me. It was then that I had the chance to remake myself into who I wanted to be.

People want predictability. My son recently got his driver’s licenses and one of the ideas I have tried to drill into him is to do what the drivers around him are expecting him to do. If he is in the right turn lane, make the right turn and ‘make the block’ if he has to but don’t suddenly swerve into the left lane. Accidents happen when you make sudden unexpected moves.

People just don’t care for drastic changes. We don’t want it in our life, in our health, in our finances, in our relationships. Small changes are ok. Many small changes can lead to a major change but it takes time and patience. Major changes always meet with major resistance. Sometimes we are not patient enough for the small changes and we insist on the major changes such as in social reforms. The major changes are painful but the results are often worth the pain, kind of like childbirth.

But it is your choice, many small painless changes or Major changes with pain and resistance.
