The Spark in Your Life

Posted by: Ann

What makes some people “great” and most of us mediocre?

I think it has to do with the spark of God (or Creator, Universal Power, whatever your choice is) in each of us. It is not that some have more than others; it is what we do with it.

The spark in each of us is infused with our true desires. Our desires are important, there is a reason they are there. Our desires can lead us to our best use in this life.

Sometimes because of circumstances or obligations or maybe society influences, we deny our “best use” and choose to do something else. It is those who do their true desires that accomplish much as it is in alignment with our purpose for being here.

Sometimes we think that our desires are thwarted. I have heard of women who had a true and overpowering desire to be a mother but were unable to have children. Maybe that desire was put there for them to mother others who did not have mothers, or those who had poor mothering. There is a reason for that strong desire.

You can rewrite your desire contract, but be careful, as there is a reason that desire is there. When I was young, I had a strong desire to learn to fly. In college I took a sample class where they take you up in a plane and show you some of the basics. But when I was out on my own and working, I just could not see how I could afford lessons and plane rental fees and I asked for the desire to be taken from me and it was. But guess what, not too many years later I fell in love with some one who had a plane and loved to fly! Now I enjoy going up with my flying husband but much to his chagrin I have no real desire to learn. It would have added another dimension to our marriage if I had a strong flying desire like my husband.

Did You Eat Your Black-Eyed Peas?

Posted by: Ann

January 4th, 2010 >> Life

I don’t really care for black-eyed peas but I have found a recipe that makes them palatable. But I am sure to eat them on New Years Day. It is suppose to bring luck for the new-year. My husband threw in a twist I did not know. He said you had to eat at least one pea for each day you want good luck, so I found a recipe that made the peas taste great. But this blog is not about a recipe. It is about what happens if you do not eat your peas and why we eat them every New Years day now.

About 10 years ago, my husband was putting in a runway on some land we had. New Years morning he went out to do a little grading on the runway. Before long he came in and said he had broken the axle on the grader. He went back out to try and move it with the backhoe as the grader was stuck on the runway. With the help of a neighbor he managed to limp the grader down the runway and around the corner of a taxiway using the backhoe to support the broken axle. Just as he turned the corner and got the grader clear of the runway, the axle on the backhoe broke! Both machines had their right-front wheels broken off! Before noon!

When he came home he said he was through for the day and was not doing anything else all day long. This was all before noon and before the black-eyed peas.

Bad Vibes

January 2nd, 2010 >> EFT, Manifesting, Meridian Tapping, Relationship, Vibration

You have heard the term “bad vibes”.

When we were looking for a house to buy, I would enter the house and check for any bad feelings or vibrations from the house. You may have done that yourself. Have you ever entered a place and felt you did not like it, or met a person who did not sit well with you even before they said anything.

I had a friend that purchased a house where an estranged husband had broken in and chased the woman down the road and killed her. When I visited this friend, I listened close to what the house was emitting and felt it was clean. I did not feel any bad vibrations; I guess they had followed the woman down the street.

We constantly send out vibrations that others pick up on. I see that in my cats all the time. Cats are more sensitive to energies and are better at judging and reacting to them. I have a cat that sends out a vibration of fear and in doing that one of my other cats is always attacking or acting like she will attack. I think in sending this vibration out he is actually attracting what he fears back to him. I wish I could explain to him that his actions are attracting what he doesn’t want. I have another cat that Misty will also try and intimidate but he ignores her and she gives up and leaves him alone.

How much negativity are we attracting into our life by our vibrational frequency we are sending out. This is the law of attraction at work. You get more of what your emotions are sending out. If you don’t like what your vibration is attracting, change it. EFT and meridian tapping are great tools to easily change your vibration.

Happy New Year

January 1st, 2010 >> Life

Did you make a new years resolution?

I don’t do that. I like to see what the year brings and live day-by-day, moment-by-moment.

We all know we should live better. Just make it a daily choice or even a moment-to-moment choice. I choose this moment to do some stretching. I choose this moment to eat this chocolate and live with the consequences. Ok, some choices are not going to be healthy but you made them. Why beat your self up about it.

At the start of a new year I like to look back at the past year and see what changes have occurred, what I have learned and accomplished. Am I the same person as I was at the beginning of the year? Have I grown, changed, and learned new things? What opportunities came to me that I took advantage of?

These are all great things to reflect on and you may be amazed at what has occurred. I know I usually am.

What Do Our Animals Teach Us?

December 31st, 2009 >> God, Life, Relationship

Our pets are a major part of our lives. They can help us in so many ways if we let them. I am not talking just about working animals such as service dogs or sheep dogs but your normal house pet whether it is a snake or a horse (I guess this is more of a barn pet than a house pet) or something in between.

When I look at my pets, I mean really look, I see multi layers of relationships and I see a lot of symbolism.

I often think of my relationship with my cats as similar to God’s relationship with us. I am like God to my cats. I take care of them and take joy in them. I also sometimes wish I could make them understand what is going on and that there is no need to be fearful. I had a huge cat once that was real concerned with food. This cat was large boned and not fat and he required a lot of food. Whenever the food dish got low (in his eyes) he would come and complain to me until I did something about it. He was worried. The food was not out, just low. He did not understand that I would not let him go hungry.

I believe God would like for us to understand that we will be taken care of. If we are not so consumed by worry and fear we can see the opportunities around us and live a more abundant life. If we could just live in the joy of the moment we could live a happier life.

Tapping Study Continues Through January

Posted by: Ann

December 30th, 2009 >> EFT, Energy, Meridian Tapping

I am continuing my study of the benefits of surrogate tapping till the end of January. More volunteers are welcome as a study is only good if you have a decent sample number.

What I need are people with problems they want help on. It could be a fear, phobia, ongoing pain of some type or something more general such as anxiety or panic attacks. I will be calling your energy to me to tap on for the problem. You will not know exactly when I will be tapping for you.

The main tapping technique I use is EFT. Through this session the problem may be cleared up or only slightly reduced for a short time and a few people may have no reaction at all.

Look at the questionnaire below and if you would like to participate just leave a comment and I will reply to you with an e-mail address. (Comments are not automatically put on blog, I review everything first so don’t worry about your comment being posted as a blog comment). You have nothing to lose as this will not make anything worse and it may help.

Questionnaire for Surrogate Tapping Volunteers

I will perform one of two different types of sessions.

Correspondence will be by e-mail.

Those that answer yes to question 1 below will be given a one-hour session. I will notify you of the session 24 hours before I perform the session but will not give a specific time. A follow up questionnaire will be sent to document any changes.

Those who answered yes to question 2 below will be given 5 short (10 to 15 minute) sessions during the week. I will notify you by e-mail when the series of sessions will start. A follow up questionnaire will be sent after the 5 consecutive sessions have been held.

If you answer yes to both 1 and 2, I will decide which session to use.

1. Do you have a specific issue, incident or pain you want worked on? ______
a. If you do what is it?
b. When did it start?
c. What was going on in your life at the time?
d. Any other info you think is pertinent.
2. Is there a nonspecific ongoing emotion you wish to work on such as depression, panic attacks, anxiety, etc.?
a. When did this start?
b. Do you know why it started?
c. Was there a specific event that happened at that time?
3. Are you willing to fill out a form with in 24 hours after notification that a session has been completed? ______ This form will be sent with the notification that a session has been completed.
4. Provide your name and City, State (or Country if not in the United States).
5. Please provide an e-mail address. This e-mail will not be sold or given to others.

Another Ditzy Cat

Posted by: Ann

December 29th, 2009 >> Animals, Cat

Sunny is a yellow longhaired tabby and his name is short for “Sunny Disposition”, “Sunny Outlook”, “Sunshine”. That pretty well explains him. However like the cat in the previous post, Sunny is a long-haired whose brain protein went to make fur instead.

I have seen this cat stalking birds at the bird bath many times however he only runs up to the bird bath after the birds have flown away. I really don’t think that he realizes the bird is no longer there. Or maybe he is like Garfield and is only chasing the birds to let us know he is on the ball and doing his job but like Garfield with the mice, they are really his friends and he doesn’t want to harm them. No, he is not smart enough to think that through. We have a cat door and shoved this cat through it many times but he still did not get it. It took him 6 months before he figured it out.

Sunny may be dingy but unlike the cat in the previous post as he is not a scaredy-cat. He is too dumb to be scared. His incapacity to be afraid has actually served him well. When one of our other cats decides to make him the object of her attack and she springs on him, Sunny either doesn’t notice and she has to embarrassingly turn and slink away or he just looks at her like “what, what’s going on”. Whenever she stalks one of our other cats, either a fight (usually in the form of a hissy fit) ensues or the other cat takes off and the chase is on ending in a mild catfight. (Why can’t they just get along)?

Maybe we could learn from this. In the previous post we saw that fear dumbs us down, keeps us from learning. While in this post we see that lack of fear (even in those considered unintelligent) can be a saving grace.

We as humans can accomplish so much more when we get past the fear. It is the fear of failure, the fear of success, the fear of being different or even the fear of being the same and being lost in the crowd that keeps us from greatness. Each of us has the potential for great accomplishments, some of us in a more low-keyed, behind the scene way than others. Meridian Tapping is a great way to get past the fear. It has helped me tremendously. I am not the same person I was 3 years ago or even 1 year ago. It can help you too.

Ditzy Cats

Posted by: Ann

December 28th, 2009 >> Animals, Cat

In my experience, longhaired cats are ditzy. I am sure there are exceptions and you may comment about some, but the only ones I have known that were not ditzy were purebred Persians. I am not saying long haired cats are not loveable or sweat natured or fun to be around. I am saying the ones I have owned or known have not been real sharp. My husband explains it as all the protein that should have gone to make brains went to make fur instead.

We had a gray longhaired cat, Daneel, that was real dingy. As you walked across the room, he would run right under your feet. His fear of being stepped on was causing him to be stepped on.

While we owned him we moved to the country, right into the territory of another cat that was the spitting image of Daneel. This cat was wild and fought like a wild cat while Daneel was a scaredy-cat. I always knew when the wild cat was outside as Daneel would tear through the house and hide under the bed.

We had another cat at the same time, Barney, who was very intelligent and could not stand Daneel. Barney would pick on him. Daneel was an easy fight for Barney. However, Barney could not see real well and his sense of smell was off due to a car accident years ago. When we moved to this new property, Barney never saw the wild cat and Daneel at the same time and would constantly pick on the wild cat like he would Daneal, but this wild cat would not take any lip and promptly tore into him.

After having to take Barney to the vet for the 3rd time to be patched up we decided it was time to relocate the wild thing. We caught him in a live animal trap and took him to some property I owned 100 miles away. We left him there with a large bag of cat food and large pan of water so he could get by for a day or two till he found the ponds and the rats. After wild-thing’s removal, Barney and Daneel became the best of buddies. It was like Barney had new respect for Daneel. That wildcat was like Daneel’s alter ego (or so Barney thought) and the two combined in Barney’s mind to create one cat that Barney could respect.

Daneel had one short coming that would still upset Barney. When Daneel was being petted, he would get ecstatic, squirm and drool. Barney would get disgusted and come over and give Daneel a swat as if to say, “Get a hold of yourself”.

I my eyes, Daneel’s one major shortcoming that made him appear so dumb was his fear. I have trained cats before (don’t let anyone tell you they can not be trained) but in working with Daneel, he was too afraid to be able to pay attention.

I apply this to humans a lot. Fear is so detrimental; it keeps us from learning, from trying, from doing something different. If we did not have fear we could do so much more with our lives. Just like Daneel, fear keeps us from living our lives to the fullest.

I have used Meridian Tapping to help me overcome a lot of fear in my life. Give it a try for yourself. www.naturallyresilient.com

You See What You Want To See

December 27th, 2009 >> Books, Censorship, Life, Physical/Material

Have you ever heard of an SEP? We have a running joke in our family about SEPs. SEP stands for Somebody Else’s Problem. The idea was introduced to us in Douglas Adams 5 book trilogy “Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Universe“. In “Life, The Universe and Everything”, Ford Prefect one of the main characters explains an SEP as “something that we can’t see, or don’t see, or our brains doesn’t let us see, because we think that it’s somebody else’s problem”.

I experienced an SEP first hand. I was living in the country about 12 miles from Georgetown, Texas. Everyday I traveled to Georgetown at least once a day sometime more often. It wasn’t until it came out in our weekly paper that I saw it. A fuel tank from a Saturn V rocket had fallen through the atmosphere to land on earth about 50 feet from the road. The same road I traveled back and forth on to go to Georgetown daily. It had been lying there for 5 days before I saw it! This was hard to miss. It was big. Tour buses started stopping at it. NASA denied it could be theirs; they were sure something that big would burn up when it entered the atmosphere. After about a month, NASA finally sent a crew to look at it and then they agreed it was theirs and they hauled it off.

The mind plays a big part in SEPs. I understand that our mind gets so many sensory inputs that it has to weed through them and only brings out what is pertinent to the situation at hand. How much are we really missing?

My son’s science class did an experiment where you stare at a red spot for a minute then look at a white sheet. The premise is that when you stare at red, the red receptors get tired and shut down and your brain takes over and says you are still seeing red. When you look at the white paper, it takes a while for the red receptors to wake back up and realize the scene has changed but your brain realized you are seeing something else and activates the other receptors while red wakes back up therefore you see green (all the other colors without red).

We kid our teenager about something being an SEP because he doesn’t want to deal with it. But seriously, how many things do we miss in life because it is an SEP?

A Dead Tree

Posted by: Ann

December 26th, 2009 >> Life

For the last 15 years during the week after Thanksgiving we have gone to a “cut your own” lot to pick a tree. They are fresher and last longer when fresh cut. I also felt I was helping a local business. When we were through with the tree, we would toss it over the fence for our goats. They loved the present. I always made sure the tree was goat safe with no tinsel or hooks on any ornaments. The goats really appreciated that bit of green when everything was brown and the tree was usually devoured within a few hours. After that it looked like a skeleton lying in the field, all bear of leaves.
We have not had goats for over 10 years but I still do not use hooks or tinsel. But this year the irony struck me as we were choosing a tree. Why were we cutting down a perfectly good tree, basically killing it to celebrate a holiday about life? I think this may be the last year for a live tree for us.
