“Do for others what you would like them to do for you. This is a summary of all that is taught in the law and the prophets.” This is important. Right here it says that this is a summary of all taught in the law and the prophets. If you don’t learn anything else, learn this one thing!
This saying also goes by the name of ‘The Golden Rule’. Jesus thought it was so important, he told thousands about it in his sermon on the mountain. Most all cultures and religion have something akin to the golden rule and for a good reason. This is the key to manifesting. You have to send out the positive energy to be able to attract positive energy.
If you want compassion, be compassionate. If you want love in your life, be loving and forgiving of others. If you are constantly sending out negative energy you will attract the negative into your life. This is the main tenet in the law of attraction.
I know of a very successful business woman who cannot tolerate pessimistic people who are always looking at why something can’t be done. It is like trying to mix oil and water. The pessimistic people will attract pessimistic people to them and the can-do positive people will attract the optimist because neither type can really tolerate the other. Which type of personality do you think is more successful?
If you tend toward the pessimistic side, try being optimistic for a week. Tell yourself that you can go back to the ‘realistic’ pessimistic thinking after the week. However after the week is up and you allow yourself to be ‘realistic’ again, you will find that you weren’t realistic before, just negative and your new ‘realism’ will appear more optimistic!
I dare you to give it a try!
I have heard some people say that EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques) or Meridian Tapping is not lasting, that the pain comes back or the issue gets better as long as the tapping is performed but it is not lasting. I beg to differ!
When I do quickies for pain, it is mainly to show that there is power in the technique and I also warn them that the pain may come back the next day. I put that warning in because the underlying issue was not addressed. It will take a full session to determine an underlying issue and even then there may be a tangle of issues or even a past life issue involved.
An alternative to an in-depth psychoanalysis is to tap daily for the pain when ever it comes up. I have done this myself. I would tap physically or mentally on the pain, not knowing why the pain was there. It would take about two to three weeks of tapping, each time I would drop the pain to a one or a zero, finally one day I would notice that the pain was gone and I had not tapped for a couple of days.
I figure that whatever the issue was had finally resolved either in living my life or from the tapping. One explanation is that each tapping session where the pain or issue if brought down to a zero means that another tree in your emotional forest has been topped. Not chopped down, just topped. Then the next tree associated with that pain pops up the next day and you top it. You eventually have the original tree sticking above the other issues again and you top it again and so it goes until all the trees associated with that pain or issue are leveled.
So don’t give up! Some things worth doing take a little effort. We have come to expect instant gratification and success and EFT is about as instant as you can get in terms of emotional release however some work may be required in the form of self-searching for the cause or consistent, persistent use of the procedure.
When you live in the country on 68 acres there are bound to be field mice. We preferred the mice to stay out side however the cats thought otherwise. At least one of them did.
LC was a young, energetic part Siamese who constantly talked, which is why she was named LC which stands for Loud Cat. You would think with all that chatter going on she would not be able to sneak up on anything let alone surprise a mouse enough to catch it. But she was a great little mouser. However she had one little quirk that made her mousing not real popular around the house, she would bring the mouse inside and had discovered if she put it in the bathtub she could play with it without it being able to escape. I would hear noises coming from the bathroom and see LC in there playing with a mouse. When she saw I was about to take her mouse away she would grab it and I would grab LC and carry her outside with her mouse where she would either lose it or finish it off.
Sometimes the mouse was not in so good a shape. I spied on her once in the tub with a partially eaten mouse batting it around. She would bat at it and it would go sailing into the drain hole. She would then dig it out and bat it around some more. I guess the drain held the excitement of a mouse hole for her. But that explained why I would sometimes find the hind quarter of a mouse in the drain screen. I never did tell overnight guests what went on in that bathtub. I always cleaned it thoroughly and shut the door against LC when expecting a guest.
I am a member of a group called “Mindful Happiness”. We meet in Morgan’s Point Resort City every Wednesday evening. It is a great group. We talk about the Law of Attraction, Manifesting, Spirituality, all types of interesting topics. Last week we decided to try group manifesting over the next six months and the topic chosen was weight reduction. (I purposefully did not use the term weight loss because when you use the term loss your mind goes into panic that it lost something and starts looking for it and before long you weigh more than you started with.)
At our meeting tomorrow we will look at different techniques to help with this manifestation. Maybe I will invite everyone to come to my house just down the street. I have a mirror in my bathroom that makes you look thinner. I love that mirror and will miss it when we redo the bathroom (I am manifesting that right now). Some people just can’t see themselves thinner and this mirror can help them visualize. One of the keys to manifesting is to visualize exactly what you want.
We will also discuss what prevents us from believing we can weigh less and ways to overcome that limiting belief system.
We do have one person in the group that seems to manifest easily. I can hardly believe all that he has manifesting in the last two years! He will probably come in the following week 50 pounds lighter.
If you live in the Temple, Belton, Killeen area check us out on Yahoo groups and come to a meeting. http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/Mindful-Happiness/
Manifesting and the Law of Attraction have become big topics lately. You know how you start thinking about something and then more information about it starts coming your way. This is along the lines of buying a new white Honda Civic and all of a sudden every other car you see is a white Honda Civic. I guess that is the Law of Attraction at work.
I have been bombarded with info from various areas about manifesting. One piece of information was about a woman who won almost every contest she ever entered. The one thing that this woman and all the other people I have read about have in common is Faith, the unshakable belief that something specific was going to happen. I remember having that feeling a few times when I saw a door prize and I knew that it was mine, and it was. This was a feeling as if my heart leaped out and grabbed it.
This reminds me of a woman in the town where I grew up, she was mentally retarded and lived with her mother. But this woman would find out about a contest and enter it. Having the child-like mind she had, she believed that she would receive the prize, and she often did. She and her mother had been around the world on free trips that the daughter had won! Maybe this is what Jesus meant when he said that “anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it” (Mark 10:13).
We are capable of having the kingdom of God right here and right now if we have faith. This takes this whole business of having faith and believing to a new level and since my fear left three months ago, I have been concentrating on the business of faith and I have to tell you, things are changing! It is very interesting.
In keeping with the Biblical theme I have going right now, I wanted to introduce Emmett Fox to my readers. Emmett Fox’s life spanned 1886 to 1951. He wrote a number of books on the stories of the Bible, searching for the deeper meaning behind the stories. Most of the Biblical passages are treated as allegory.
Emmett Fox was a scientist, philosopher and spiritual teacher who lectured widely in the US and Great Britain and promoted tapping into the infinite power that surrounds us.
I have a number of his books on my bookshelf. The one I will focus on today is “The Sermon on the Mount: The Key to Success in Life.
” This is one of those books to own because each time you reread it you will gain further insights into life and yourself. To give you an Idea of his writing here is a quote from the book
“If, when someone is behaving badly, instead of thinking of the trouble, you will immediately switch your attention off from the human to the Divine, and concentrate upon God, or upon the Real Spiritual Self of the person in question, you will find – if you really do this—that his conduct will immediately change. This is the secret of handling difficult people, and Jesus understood it thoroughly. If people are troublesome, you have only to change your thoughts about them, and then they will change too, because your own concept is what you see. This is the true revenge.”
This particular book was first written in 1934. I have found a number of books written from 1910 through the 1950’s that promote ideas that are considered new in our times; specifically the Law of Attraction and Manifesting, both of which actually have deep spiritual roots. Although not called by such names, all these older books contain such ideas, this book is no exception.
The Spirit Creates Our Lives

I feel I need constant reassurance that God is there and cares about what is going on down here on the material plane. Sometimes I think God is only concerned with the Spiritual.
But no, the spiritual and the material are both tied together. The spiritual is important because it continues after the material is gone, after the physical is gone, after the relationships are gone. All these; physical (health), relationships, and material (wealth), are reflections of the spiritual or the ongoing soul.
Are they different aspects of the soul?
It is like a bud that cannot contain itself any longer and it burst out into a flower; that is what the spirit is doing. It bursts out into something you can sense better, something physical be it a relationship, wealth or health. Sometimes the spirit is troubled or not on the right path. I hate using the word ‘right’ as there is no true wrong or right path, it is more of not being true to whom you are (a child of God) and things we don’t like crop up in our lives. This is a form of manifesting.
The spirit is an energetic force, a vibration. This force creates feelings and emotions. These feelings can have a direct impact on our health. Many illnesses have been linked to negative emotions.
Our relationships are definitely linked to our emotions. Try to have a close relationship without any emotions! It won’t happen. You may have positive or negative emotions but you will have emotions.
For the physical, the new rage is the law of attraction and that involves feelings. You attract more of what you are feeling into your life. If you are feeling hopeful and optimistic more comes to you to give you hope and optimism. If you are feeling worried and scared more comes to you to emphasize those feeling.
We are constantly evolving personally and as a species. It can’t be helped. We are all generating things on this earth, that is why nothing ever stays the same but all is constantly changing.
Our church youth group went on a mission trip recently and I was intrigued about one of the stories that they came back with. The group that our pastor was in was to do roofing. Now remember most of the participants are Jr. High and High School age kids with two adults per work site. Our pastor admits to not possessing carpentry skills and was rather lost about how to shingle a roof let alone teach a bunch of kid how. There was a person who came to the sites for basic instruction but he had a lot of sites to cover so each team was basically on their own.
Luckily (…but there is no luck or coincidences) next door lived a professional roofer who had been out of work for almost two years. With the economy, no one was building. When he saw what was going on, he came over to help out (much to our pastor’s relief). This man had seen that his neighbor needed a new roof but he did not have the money to buy shingles for this person. The neighbor was glad for the opportunity to help, putting his skills to work.
The team had all week to work and several days into the roofing job, the neighbor had a call which contained a job offer that would start the next week! No job for 2 years then he steps outside of himself and it comes to him.
We are often confronted with such idiosyncrasies. We worry and worry about something and that holds it back. Law of Attraction again, we worry so it brings more worry to us. Then we start to do something constructive and it feels good and things start to turn around to provide more of what feels good.
Manifesting with Matthew 4:6-7, 9-10 Cont. from July 6

The second temptation in verses 6-7 claims that the angels will protect you. (Don’t go thinking that this only applies to Jesus. God loves each of us immensely, no matter who we are.) Yes, the angels can protect you, but don’t go and do something foolhardy just to see that they will. You do have free will and the angels won’t interfere if they see that is what you want to do.
This free will business is tricky. God gave us free will. It is not free will if a decision you make can be condemned by God. It is like a dictator saying “you are free in my country” but then having anyone killed that does not do what he says. This is not true free will. Another interesting side note about ‘free will’ involves willing something to be or not. I have read so many articles and books about manifesting (these are real life stories) and one of the attributes for manifesting is to have a strong will for it to occur. This gives a whole new meaning to free will.
The third temptation of Christ in the wilderness is basically a form of bribery, doing what someone else wants you to do. No, hold the faith and do what you know you should do. In other words, be yourself. Be the best (insert your name here) you can be. Be true to yourself and who you are. God created you so you are who you are supposed to be. You have the likes and dislikes and talents for a reason. Yes it may be a thorn that you have to overcome to build character that you do not possess but more than likely it is for you to work with and develop to its full potential. Believe in yourself and God will provide the doors and opportunities and that does not involve lowering your standards to accept something someone else is holding out with strings attached.
Many years ago, we lost our BIG black and white cat Barney. I don’t know if it was coyotes or the local mountain lion, but the last time I saw him was when we came home late (midnight) and I invited him to come in with us but he declined.
I searched all over the field for the next week but never saw a sign of him. I was very upset as Barney was a very sweet, personable cat that everyone loved and he loved everyone. We decided to replace Barney and a friend said that his sister in Georgetown had discovered three kittens in their neighbors back yard, they did not even have their eyes open yet! Some local boys had found them and stuck them under a milk crate in the back yard. The woman rescued the kittens and bottle raised them.
One of the kittens was a black and white who looked a lot like Barney. We said we would take that one. At 5 weeks old we took possession. Harry showed up one afternoon and our female cat Mouser took one look at this kitten, hissed and ran off. Since this kitten had shown up in the afternoon and Paul usually came home in the afternoon, she associated Paul with having brought this kitten in the house. Mouser accepted the kitten within a week but stayed mad at Paul for two weeks!
Harry was an adventurous kitten who loved the outdoors. We closed the cat door at night with the cats in the house least we lose another one in the middle of the night. When ever we tried to go outside after dark, Harry would make an effort to escape.
We had a huge pile of dirt in the backyard of our home which came from digging the septic field. One night Paul opened the back door and out ran Harry. Paul and I took off after him. Harry thought it was great fun to run around the base of the dirt pile. Paul and I were running different directions around the dirt trying to catch him. A kitten can be a slippery thing to catch.
Harry was having a great time evading us in the dark and who shows up but an owl screeching overhead. Harry did not understand the great danger he was in. That owl was upset with me and Paul keeping him from a great little snack. Our efforts to catch Harry escalated. Only after we had caught Harry and started heading back to the house, did the Owl finally give up.
