Yesterday I talked about NAET, which is geared to allergies, but there are forms of energy work that are geared to physical problems. One is Reiki. The reiki.org website explains it well. “Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is administered by “laying on hands” and is based on the idea that an unseen “life force energy” flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one’s “life force energy” is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy.”
My husband has had Reiki training and explains it as a laying on of hands. He has used it to help my son with his headaches however he has not been as successful with my headaches. My husband says I hold on to them for some reason. I found out where my headaches are coming from when I had a life reading this summer, but that is a topic for another day.
Do you have a massage therapist that you really like? One that when you finish a session you feel a lot better and more carefree? They may be using Reiki or another form of energy work besides just massage. Chiropractors also tend to use a lot of the energy modalities. Our local military base has even allowed Reiki in to treat soldiers (but it is a through the back door operation. The military is not ready to openly acknowledge it because of complications with insurance coverage.)
Tomorrow I will talk about an energy method that our western medical doctors and psychiatrist are starting to use very successfully, but this one you can even do yourself.
Energy Work

Are you familiar with Meridian Tapping? If not I highly recommend it. If you don’t know what I am talking about go to www.naturallyresilient.com and watch the video on EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique). This is an example of a Meridian Tapping modality. Meridian Tapping involves tapping on various acupuncture points to stimulate them and add energy into the meridian. By adding this energy, many problems can be easily overcome.
Sounds weird doesn’t it. That is what I thought when I first heard of it.
My first experience with a Tapping Therapy involved NAET (NAET.com), which is mainly geared to allergies. I had been going to an allergist for years, taking shots, was even on high powered inhalers because I had developed asthma. I hate not being able to breath, that is the one fear that really scared me most of my life, suffocating. May be that is from a past life experience.
I had a friend that saw how I was suffering, gasping for breath. She recommended some one who did allergy elimination. It sounded so weird; it took me 3 months to talk myself into going. I reasoned I would try it one time and see what happened and if it was a fraud, I was only out a small amount of money.
I was blown away. The first treatment was for my lactose intolerance. Before the treatment if I took a tablespoon of milk, I would end up in the bathroom in agony for 3 hours with what my family fondly calls the screaming squirts. But wow, after the treatment, I could eat ice cream and drink milk again. I continued going back to get all my allergies cleared up. The treatment for grasses cleared the asthma.
Needless to say, I was impressed and have been an advocate for energy medicine ever since. Give it a try; you may be just as blown away as I was.
Yesterday I mentioned the “Fruits of the Spirit”: Love, Joy, Hope, and Peace. These are innate to you. They are who you really are. We bring the negativity onto ourselves and insist on carrying that burden, but that is not who we are.
When you do Meridian Tapping or EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques) you release the negative emotions, they seem to disappear, but the positive ones are not affected.
The body has an energy system called the meridian that runs through it. The negative baggage tends to clog the lines. Just like putting pressure to a clogged drain line with a plunger will unclog a drain, putting extra energy into the energy system of the body will help unclog the meridian.
What is so bad about a clogged meridian? The way I see it is that the fears, anger, worry, regrets, jealousy and all the other negativity we have clog the lines and when the lines clog we can get sick or sometimes just get more build up of fears, anger, worry, regrets etc. So if your life seems to be dominated by a specific negative emotion, you may have a blockage and build up going on. Do some tapping to help relieve the problem.

Yesterday’s post told a little about relieving pain with a tapping technique I use.
Why does tapping work?
The way I see it is that we are born into this world with the “fruits of the spirit” – Love, Joy, Hope, Peace. But as soon as we are born we start tacking on the baggage, the negative emotions. Sometimes these emotions can lead to physical pain or disease.
Think about the word disease. It is when the body is not at ease or is at dis-ease.
A negative event that is constantly in the foreground of your mind causes you discomfort (you are not at ease). This is like the thorn in the finger that irritates and finally causes an infection. It needs to be dealt with and extracted. The longer you try to ignore it the more your body will try and tell you it is there in even louder ways until you finally take notice. Sometimes this louder voice the body uses is pain or even a serious disease like cancer.
Tomorrow I will tell you my version of why the tapping relieves the negative emotions.

Returning Energy

November 8th, 2009 >> Life, Physical/Material, Spirituality, Vibration
In February I was at a meeting in a large room with about 100 people in attendance. During break, I was walking down the aisle when a woman with long, grey streaked hair came hurrying to me. She said she had felt her energy go out of her and attach to me as I walked by and she thought I needed this. She then put something in my hand. It was a crystal of some sort. I thanked her and told her I would return her energy later.
On the drive home, I remembered my promise and sent her energy back. I felt a lot of energy go out of me. How did I miss that! I was surprised that I had not felt it come in.
The next day I asked a friend who knew about crystals what the stone was and she told me it was a citrine. I looked up the crystal and found it is also called the Merchant Stone as it protects against money worries and helps to ensure the accumulation of wealth. At the time I was in the middle of money worries, not knowing how we would pay the next months bills so this seemed appropriate. It is now November and we are doing better money wise than we were in February.
It was a magical moment when that woman sought me out.
“I’m not happy. I’m cheerful. There’s a difference. A happy woman has no cares at all. A cheerful woman has cares but has learned how to deal with them.” — Beverly Sills, 1929-2007, Opera Singer
I tend to concentrate on mental attitude because your state of mind can have a major impact, not just on your emotional, but also on your spiritual and physical wellbeing. In my own life, I have found that when I switched from a negative outlook of the present and future to a positive one, my world did change, more things to be positive about started showing up.
To Practice This Thought: Acknowledge that you have cares and problems. They do exist for all of us. But then allow yourself to move past that and develop a cheerful outlook in spite of them.
“Every memorable act in the history of the world is a triumph of enthusiasm. Nothing great was ever achieved without it because it gives any challenge or any occupation, no matter how frightening or difficult, a new meaning. Without enthusiasm you are doomed to a life of mediocrity but with it you can accomplish miracles.” — Og Mandino, 1923 – 1996, Speaker and Author of The Greatest Salesman in the World
Have you ever met someone who showed a lot of enthusiasm and soon you were feeling more energized yourself? Enthusiasm is what leads people to join your cause. Enthusiasm can cause mountainous problems to become molehills. Just feeling enthusiastic about a task makes it more enjoyable. Enthusiasm is also good for you; it gets the blood flowing and the endorphins pumping.
To Practice This Thought: Decide to be enthusiastic about something this week and see if anyone else catches your enthusiasm.
