Many of us first became aware of Masaru Emoto’s book The Hidden Messages in Water through The Secret (Extended Edition)
. I actually bought and read the book. It does make you think about yourself and your thoughts and how our thought can influence those around us.
For various reasons, I have been very conscious of my thought over the last year. It is hard to control them.
Emoto shows how the words associated with the thought also have power. Many years ago it was thought that words had such power. It was believed that words came out of the mouth and actually took form. In our scientific world we have gotten away from that, but I believe there is more truth in the power of words than we know.
Words are thought in symbol form. Thoughts are what create; from the ‘law of attraction’ view point. The thought goes out to the universe to create and bring into your life what you are thinking about. So beware and think good thoughts. Words especially the spoken words are just a stronger version of the thought.
I have always had to be careful about what I say as it will often come true (it seems to mainly apply to the negative words and ideas, Argh!) My husband stacked and moved, loading and unloading about 30 bales of hay one day with no problem. We put the bales out for erosion control on some land we were developing. Several weeks later we took a walk and noted one of the bales had shifted out of position. Paul went to move it back and I said “be careful, don’t hurt your back”. Guess what – he hurt his back! Things like this happened a lot. This happened so often that I was not allowed to refer to the mobile home that we were living in as “tornado bait”. My husband could, but I could not.
I think I will run an experiment on myself. For the next several weeks I will write positive, uplifting words on myself and see what happens. I will note if my thoughts are more positive and if anything extraordinary happens during that time. I’ll let you know what happens.
