Learn How to Manifest Your Desires

January 31st, 2010 >> Books, Life, Manifesting, Physical/Material

I have a great book for those who are trying to figure out how to manifest.
I’m Rich Beyond My Wildest Dreams–I Am. I Am. I Am.: How to Get Everything You Want in Life
By Thomas L Pauley and Penelope J. Pauley. This book leads you through their story on manifesting their desires.

After I read this book, I was having a discussion about the law of attraction with a friend and she commented that she did not have a clue about how to go about manifesting. So I loaned her this book.

Boy was she good at it. At the time of our discussion, she was living in a very small 3 bedroom 1 bath rental with herself and 5 children one of which was severely handicapped. She had spent Christmas at the hospital that year with the severely handicapped child and lamented the fact that she did not have a husband that could help her with all of this.

After she read the book she found a man and they fell is love. This new love in her life took her to see a ‘for sale by owner’ house. She said she had never considered looking in the ‘for sale by owner’ section of the paper. She fell in love with this house. It was an ultra modern 1950 style, lots of glass, lots of rock. It had 5 bedrooms, three bathrooms, a two car garage, various tool and garden sheds and a separate office/cottage with its own half bath. She couldn’t believe her good fortune. The house was easily three times bigger than her present rental. She worked the numbers and figured she could pay for it even after they got married and her love took a year out to go to school. That was almost 3 years ago and she is still enjoying her house, her husband and her new life.

Depression Removes Your Passion

Yesterday I talked about passion and how every one must live their passion.

I can think about one group of people who do not have passion — they have lost it. It reminds me of the Golden Compass where every one had an animal familiar attached to them but when the familiar was “detached” from them they were lost, incapacitated, did not know what to do. To me that describes a depressed person because they have lost their passion.

I can talk about this because I went through a year of depression myself. It is difficult. You do not see any sense in life. No activity really makes sense. There is no hope.

In my case the cause was unacknowledged anger. I did a lot of self-help and inner child work at that time because I remembered feeling different and knew I could feel different. I finally stumbled on a section in a workbook that said to write a letter to some one you are mad at. I could not think of any one but decided to write a letter to some one who just popped into my mind. There is a reason things pop into your mind at specific times.

I did not know I had so much pent up anger. But boy did I feel good afterwards. I did 5 loads of laundry, cleaned two bathrooms, mopped the floor and went for a walk!

It is funny, even though the depression had left, I still felt like the depression was the truth and the life I was now living was a lie. It was almost like a wet blanket was thrown over the smoldering coals, but the coals were still smoldering. It did take several more years to totally smother those burning coals.

I did not know about EFT or Meridian Tapping at that time. If I had I believe the depression would have left faster with no smoldering coals below the surface.

If you have depression, check out my website and book a session. Depression is one of those deep issues that may take more than one session. www.naturallyresilient.com

Life Force is Tied to Your Passion

Posted by: Ann

January 25th, 2010 >> Energy, Life, Physical/Material

This is something I have mentioned before, living your passion. But this time I want to approach it from a different angle.

We all have things we really enjoy doing or wish we could make a living at or maybe just something to which you want to devote a lot of time. But many of us do not live our passion. I want to encourage each of you to live your passion.

Why? Because that is where you get your energy, it feeds your life force.

I listen to a number of teleseminars and I remember hearing a couple of different interviews where the subject was the life force or energy of people. One interviewee was commenting that he had seen the life force of people drop drastically just in the 15 –20 years he had been doing the research. He was commenting that the force was very low right now.

I believe that living our passion is directly related to our life energy. If we are not in our passion we are not receiving the energy we desperately need to thrive.  So few people actually live their passion right now. No wonder our energy is so low.

Our passion is our driving energy it is the reason we are here. Yes we can live without fulfilling a passion but are we really living or just existing.

Have you ever been so involved in something that you were not aware of time passing? I have. I would start working at 8 in the morning and be so inspired that when I finally realize my stomach was growling and I looked at the clock it would be 4pm!

Feed your energy. Feed your life force and live your passion.

I have read about a man that decided his passion was reading esoteric literature, things along the line of manifesting, self help, spirituality, meditating. So he quit his job and started reading. About 6 months later he realized his funds were getting low and he needed to do something if he wanted to keep eating. He told several people what he was learning and he started getting dinner invitations. He was booked for dinner every night because people were interested in what he was learning. Then the group talk request started coming in and he actually started making a living based on his passion for reading weird stuff.

This is important stuff. You must find a way to live your passion because that will feed your energy.

Tax time again!

Ugh, it is that time of year when I drag out the receipts and get the books in order and start working taxes. We have several businesses, S-Corp, LLC’s and our own personal taxes.

Call me weird but I actually like doing them. There is something soothing about working with numbers. They always mean the same thing; I also like to see the progression as I work through the forms. It gives me a sense of accomplishment. I don’t usually owe anything so that also makes it easier.

A number of years ago, our taxes had gotten so complicated I was not sure I was doing it very well so I took a H&R Block class and was one of their star pupils. They hired me and I worked taxes for them for several years. It is very interesting when you are trying to do taxes for some one who does not speak English and you don’t speak Spanish. There is something to be said about being bilingual.

Back to work.

Want a Better World?

January 19th, 2010 >> Life, Manifesting, Physical/Material, Relationship

You were born with certain gifts and talents. This is what makes up your inner self. Many people deny their gifts and talents because of upbringing, society or what well-meaning teachers said to them. We tend to bury them and say the “c” word, can’t.

Remember your gifts and talents are what you bring the world. You are here for a reason. Each of us can make a difference in the world because each day we are creating our lives, our surroundings and our world.

If you want a better world you must start with yourself and the here and now. Make time to use your gifts and talents. This doesn’t mean selling your house, quitting your job and uprooting your family. Start simply. Cook something for the co-worker who is going through a rough time, let them know you care. Join the local acting guild. Start writing that book you always wanted to write. It doesn’t matter where you start, just start. Then let it lead you. You may find yourself selling your house, quitting your job and uprooting your family, but at that point it will feel like a natural progression, not forced.

Just share your talents and gifts with the world. We need you.

Your Face has Property Value

A smile increases your face value

I received that in a fortune cookie Sunday. Fortune cookies no longer tell fortunes; they seem to just have sayings in them. Sometimes the sayings can pack some meaning such as the one I received yesterday.

Think about it a minute.

Face value, what does that mean? A couple of things come to my mind.

It could be like property value. The value of you as a human has just increased. When you smile at some one that person feels better and automatically think better of you, increasing your value to them as a person.

Look at it from the opposite end. Think about the couple that always bickers. Their value to each other keeps going down until one wants a divorce. I have heard many stories and read enough self-help books that say if only one partner will start to smile and act kinder and more accepting, the other partner will soon follow suite and the marriage is saved.

Another way to look at face value is in a more literal way. Your face just looks better, prettier with a smile on it.

So put a smile on the next time you go out and increase your value.

Your Passion is Your Inner Power

Where does inner power come from?

I believe it comes from your passion. Your passion is your strength as it can move mountains. Don’t tell me that Napoleon did not have a passion. It might have been a misplaced passion to conquer the world, but he had a passion. All the great people we admire had a great passion for what they did. Mother Teresa felt compassion and developed a passion to help the unfortunates in Calcutta.

Did you notice how the word compassion has passion in it?  I believe that is not a coincidence.

Passions can develop and change. What you were passionate about when young may be totally different 20 years later so it is always good to review your passions. If you are at a lost to what your passions are get a copy of “The Passion Test” . This book will help you discover who you are and what your passions are. If you know your passions, you are halfway to discovering your destiny and changing the world.

Inner Power Changes the World

January 16th, 2010 >> Energy, Life, Manifesting

I have always been fascinated with what it takes to change the world.

How can one person create major change? I remember reading stories about kids not yet teens, who had made an impact on the world or at least their corner of it.

When I was young, I had no idea I could do anything like that. I didn’t even have control of my own life what would make me think I could do anything significant in the world, so I didn’t. It wasn’t until I turned 50 that I felt an energy shift and started realizing that one person can make a difference.

It is not an external power that creates change but an internal power acting on the external world. Every one knows that Napoleon was short, he was only 5’2” but did you know that Alexander the Great was only 5’. These people were small of stature but they had large internal power that they acted on the world around them.

I just watched the movie “Gandhi”. That was a man who assumed a figure of little power but because of his great internal power he accomplished much for many people.

The next question that begs to be answered is how do you get that strong inner power?

I will leave that for later.

Negative Emotions

January 15th, 2010 >> EFT, Life, Meridian Tapping

I just read a piece about the difference between positive and negative emotions. You thought you knew the difference right?

Positive emotions make you feel good and negative ones make you feel bad. Well it has a little more depth than that. This study said that positive emotions broaden your perceptions, thoughts and behaviors, while negative ones narrow them.

Hum, with that type of definition it sounds like there are times when negative emotions are helpful. The negative emotions can help you focus in a crisis. They are the ones that alert you to danger. But the positive ones help you be creative and see all sides to a situation.

What I believe happens is that we get stuck in the negative emotions. Our jobs require our focus and the stress in life often makes us focus and live in crisis mode. But it is the positive that makes life enjoyable and meaningful. What we need is to get unstuck. The negative emotions should only be used sparingly and only when they are truly needed.

How do you unstick yourself? Meridian Tapping or EFT is great at unsticking negative emotions. I publish a monthly tapping routine that is geared to moving you out of the negative and into the positive. Go to www.naturallyresilient.com and sign up to receive this free monthly self-help routine. Sometimes I will send out information that I think may be helpful but I will never sell or give you e-mail address to any one else.

Life is Always Changing

January 12th, 2010 >> Life, Physical/Material

Yesterday I talked about what I see as a worldwide change going on. But worldwide change is based on many individuals making changes.

Look at your life. Do you see a pattern to the changes that go on? I have noticed a 7-year pattern in mine. About every 7 years or so, I see a change in some aspect of my life. It may be a job change or a physical move or even a major shift in my thinking but each change starts me in a new direction.

So when life starts to get difficult, I just remember that change is just around the corner. This is something we need to be teaching our teenagers. One of the reasons for so many suicides is that the person does not see a way out of a situation and they never realize that change is coming. If you don’t like the situation right now, just wait and it will change.

I remember reading a story of a man who had grown up in a family that moved every year due to the dad’s job. What this man had learned from his mobile life was that he could put up with anything for 6 months to a year. He knew that change was coming and if he did not get along with a teacher he did not stress out about it because he realized he would be out of there in a few months. This made his hardships bearable all through life.

I think that is a major life lesson that all of us could benefit from. Don’t get too stuck in the now as change is a given and it will come.
