Paradox In The Garden

I was thinking about the Garden of Eden story today. There are two points I wish to make.
The 1st is a rather simple statement. If you have no knowledge of good or evil, then you would not understand that eating what you are told not to eat is evil and not good?
The 2nd is viewing the whole story as allegorical. I got this idea from my dear husband.
The Garden can be viewed as Abundance. Adam and Eve were living in abundance, they had everything they could want or need. The eating of the fruit of the knowledge of good and evil is the awakening of the idea of scarcity into their lives. If you live with the mindset of scarcity you can no longer live in abundance. The two cannot coexist in the same mind. You are either living out of scarcity or living out of abundance. When they shifted to scarcity, they saw they were lacking, they hid because they were naked (lacking). So they had to leave the Garden – abundance.
God is abundance, God is the energy of the universe and so God is all things. When Adam and Eve experienced scarcity they also experienced a loss of the intimate relationship with God because abundance and scarcity cannot coexist.
This Garden of Eden is actually a mindset. We can go (and are going) back there but we must first release this concept of scarcity so we are free to embrace the abundance. It is very hard to release scarcity. We see it every time we pay bills at the beginning of the month. We see it every time we go to the grocery store and see a limited amount of cans on the shelves. We experience scarcity every time we turn on the TV news. As long as we see scarcity we are still in scarcity.
How can we overcome this mindset?
Express gratitude in all you see and experience. Be grateful even for the “problems” in your life, as you don’t know what benefits they will provide you.
Use affirmations about the future but phrase it in current terms such as “I have plenty to share”.
See abundance in your life where you have it. Is it friends, is it love, is it money, is it time? What ever it is, rejoice in it.

Did you see the Beetle Bailey cartoon last Sunday? Sarge decides he is going to be nice to his troops for the day. His troops seem to like the new Sarge but everyone sees that there is something wrong with him. Sarge is not acting like Sarge so he must be sick and he ends up in a padded cell.
Have you ever tried to change something major about your life and met resistance from those around you?
I tried to do that in High School. I did not like who I was at the time and wanted to change but no one took me seriously. I had to wait until College when I moved away to a place where no one knew me. It was then that I had the chance to remake myself into who I wanted to be.
People want predictability. My son recently got his driver’s licenses and one of the ideas I have tried to drill into him is to do what the drivers around him are expecting him to do. If he is in the right turn lane, make the right turn and ‘make the block’ if he has to but don’t suddenly swerve into the left lane. Accidents happen when you make sudden unexpected moves.
People just don’t care for drastic changes. We don’t want it in our life, in our health, in our finances, in our relationships. Small changes are ok. Many small changes can lead to a major change but it takes time and patience. Major changes always meet with major resistance. Sometimes we are not patient enough for the small changes and we insist on the major changes such as in social reforms. The major changes are painful but the results are often worth the pain, kind of like childbirth.
But it is your choice, many small painless changes or Major changes with pain and resistance.
The Writing on the Walls of Your Life

Who has written on the walls of your life? What I mean is who has said or done things that really influenced your life.
Often we think of the special people who had a positive impact on our life, like the teacher who pointed out what you were really good at, or the neighbor who took you in when times were rough at home, or the friend that showed you the world could be a friendly place.
Sometimes the writings are not that helpful. I am sure whoever put the writings there never meant for them to be a hindrance.
One of the writings that I had to struggle with was that God wanted us to give every thing away and live under a bridge. This does not make much sense. But I had a strong religious upbringing that somehow enforced this idea. Last Sunday I realized where this came from. We have been reading Proverbs and there are many sayings in there that talk about it being better to be poor and honest than rich and wicked. Somehow I got the part about it is better to be poor than rich but the rest of it went right past me. You realize who wrote most of Proverbs? King Solomon, the richest man in the known world at the time. Was he poor? NO.
He was just trying to make a point that happiness and honesty are to be valued and treasured. If you are a rich businessman but you are also dishonest in your dealings, you will have to work extra hard to hold on to your position and customers and sales because people will find out and not want to deal with you again. However if you are poor but honest and you consistently work toward your goals, you will succeed and prosper because people will see you are honest with them and that is what people want.
An idea that it is better to be poor than rich can be pretty limiting. How do you get over these debilitating writings on your walls?
Meridian tapping and EFT work wonders in getting you past this. I actually did work on this issue several years ago and it is no longer a strong influence in my life. You often have to dig a little deeper than just the surface statement such as it is better to be poor and give everything away. Often an objective 2nd party can help you see the trees in the forest that are causing the problems.

I introduced Barney and Callie last week. This week I want to tell a story about Callie.
One evening, about two months after I brought these two home, Callie was sitting on my breakfast room window seat. The window was open with just a screen between her and the world. Outside the window, a stray cat walked by and all of a sudden Callie jumped through the window screen to get to him. It was then that I learned Callie loved a good fight. This incident also scared me, not because my clawless cat wanted to be involved in fighting (hey it was her choice to fight, and no I was not the one who declawed her) but because I had no control after they were out of the house. What if they were about to run into the street? It was time to teach these two their names or more precisely, to come when I called them, especially if they were going to get loose.
I took them both outside with some cat treats. Callie caught on real fast. Barney took more work.
I was so impressed with Callie that I taught her to come, and stay! I could just you hand signals and she obeyed!
Callie had another unusual quark, she loved water. She would even get in the shower with me while I was showering! She also loved drinking out of the sink faucet and would jump up on the vanity in the bathroom whenever the water was running. This became a problem. I had contacts and insisted on a hairless, dander free area as I dealt with them. At first I would use the stay command to tell her she was not welcome, then after dealing with the contacts I would say “come” and she would jump up. There were a few times when I was through with the contacts but had not given the all-clear command and she had jumped up anyway. I also noted a couple of time when I started working on my contacts when she was not in the room, then she would come in and my hands were busy so I was not able to do the hand signal that went with the stay commands, but she would stay grounded until I was through. I started thinking about the whole thing, it was like she was reading my mind. I then noticed that I tensed my back when she came in while I was working my contacts. When I was through my back relaxed. Callie wasn’t reading my mind she was reading my body language and acting appropriately! I was able to stop with the commands altogether and just use my back muscles. She was able to read my energy through my clothing!
Even though Callie was easy to train, there was one battle that Callie finally won involving the top of the refrigerator. I do not allow the cats on any food preparation or serving areas. However Callie loved to be on top of the refrigerator to survey the happenings in the kitchen. But to get there she had to jump to the kitchen counter first. I fought with her on this for several months. We finally came to a compromise. She could only get on the small section next to the refrigerator and only to jump to the top of the refrigerator. This has been the only time I have compromised with one of my cats about one of my hard and fast rules.
I stumbled onto this and wanted to pass it on. I have always felt that Passion and Persistence were important for success, but this added a few other items.
What is all of this I have been hearing about aspartame?
Did you know it has toxic long-term effects? Aspartame has the same symptoms as Methanol poisoning! Did you know it is often a hidden ingredient in many pharmaceutical drugs?
This came across my e-mail and I listened to the whole 1:29:54 of it. http://articles.mercola.com/sites/articles/archive/2010/02/06/sweet-misery-a-poisoned-world-you-can-finally-view-free-online.aspx
Very eye opening. A short synopsis of what I got from it follows:
A drug company was trying to find an ulcer drug when the chemist splashed some on his hand and licked it (brave chemist, one of the first rules I learned in chemistry class what not to put anything in your mouth) and it tasted sweet. This led to the idea that it may be a good diet substitute for sugar.
Testing was done for Aspartame but it was botched, several times. In one experiment the feed for the mice were mixed up and the test group and the control group were both fed the aspartame and both came down with brain tumors – test results recorded was that Aspartame was no different than the control group. (Brain tumors in any animal are not a normal condition). Another botched test was when the Aspartame was not finely ground up before being mixed with the feed. The animals just ate around it, kind of like trying to trick a cat with a pill in the food. These animals did not experience any side effects so this test was used.
It is also very fishy when the testing is done solely by a company that has a financial interest in the outcome. When is the FDA going to wake up and actually do their job? Many of the FDA workers involved in getting this “drug” approved for consumption are now working in the Soda and Drink industry.
Some of the side effects of Aspartame.
Seizures – Outside testing using monkeys had many with Grand Mal Seizures and one died.
Brain Tumors – The animals used for testing developed brain tumors. In the ‘official’ test many of these animals were preserved and looked at a year later after their tissue had turned to mush so nothing was seen, others had the tumors physically cut out before presenting for proof of acceptance. (How many people do you know who have developed brain cancer? I know quit a few).
Other problems that the Center for Disease Control investigations found cardiac arrest, seizures, liver problems, mood alterations, deaths. However the Center for Disease Control is so embarrassed (that they are unwilling to stand up to the commercial companies and the FDA) they only list a ‘summary’ on their website not the full 147 page report which can be found at www.dorway.com.
FDA has developed the attitude of approving things now and letting the people prove it is bad latter.
On a more personal aside, my husband use to drink diet cokes a lot. He quit when he linked the diet drink with his eye and leg muscle twitches, tinnitus and several other problems including the inability to loose weight (you don’t see a thin person drinking a diet drink).
I realized this morning that the “Slim Fast” I like for breakfast has aspartame so this is the last batch of that I will buy.
Symbolism of Taxes Revisited
Posted by: Ann
February 8th, 2010 >> Life, Physical/Material, Sacrifice
Ok I have recovered from my headache and I have been thinking about the symbolism of taxes. I think I may have something.
Lets think about giving. Giving is a show of abundance when you give willingly. Giving is also a form of showing gratitude. The law of attraction would approve of this. The more you willingly give without expecting anything in return, the more the universe will provide to you to allow you to keep giving. However, many people do not give, or do so grudgingly. When that happens, the law of attraction says, “Oh, you want to have to give and not like it” so then you are given the opportunities to give grudgingly.
Now let me ask you, do you give to the government willingly? If this were a purely voluntary program would you shell out the money? Where is your gratitude, your willingness to give? Remember the law of attraction; what you throw out there you will get back.
I can here it now. “But the government waste my money”. Well so do your children, are you throwing them out? Yes the government does some stupid and insane things sometimes (read tomorrows post) but don’t your children?
Think of taxes as a lesson in “letting go”. You must let go willingly and know it is ok. Don’t begrudge the greatest country in the world its share. You live here, you work here, and you are blessed.
The Rules of The Game

A couple of weeks ago you learned how to find your passions with The Passion Test. Then last week you learned how to manifest what you really desire with I’m Rich Beyond My Wildest Dreams. This week I am introducing a book that changes all the rules of the game. Busting Loose From the Money Game: Mind-Blowing Strategies for Changing the Rules of a Game You Can’t Win
by Robert Scheinfeld is a revolutionary book about the way things really work. This book goes a step beyond the Law of Attraction.
Where the Law of Attraction still works within a frame work of game rules that we (human kind) have agreed to on a subconscious level, Busting Loose tells you how to change the rules altogether. When you are free from the constraints of the rules you start to create your own rules. I am not talking about break the law type rules. These rules are at a much deeper level. Many of them sound familiar to the Law of Attraction crowd:
There is a limited supply of money
Money flows in and out and is separate from you so that you have to go out and get it.
You must work harder or smarter to increase your supply of money
Even though the Law of Attraction also refutes these rules, Robert Scheinfeld takes it a step further. He explains how this game is designed so that you can’t win and that is why you must change the rules. Robert Scheinfeld shows how none of the beliefs and assumptions that are the basis for these money rules are true.
Then he leads you through the land of OZ where you will see that this is not just a Money Game but a Human Game. The steps for creating the new rules is explained in this very interesting easy to read book. Maybe these are the changes that will be coming to the human race in 2012 and beyond and it can start with you if you read this book.
“If people concentrated on the really important things in life, there’d be a shortage of fishing poles.”
—- Doug Larson
What is really important in this life? Is it your job? Is it your bank account? Is it spending all day on the computer? I believe it is relationships: relationships with God and relationships with each other. This is why being a mom or a dad is so important, this is the first relationship a child forms. These relationships are given lip service as being important but few actually live like it is important.
To Practice This Thought: Take time to “go fishing”, relax with some one you love. Deepen that relationship.
Tax time is upon me. I like to find symbolism in the most unlikely places. Taxes are one of those unlikely places.
What do taxes symbolize? On the material level they are a way for our country to pull together and provide funds for beneficial programs such as roads, urban housing, food stamps, work programs, military and many more. What do they mean on a deeper level.
Like Jesus said about paying the Roman taxes: Give unto Caesar that which is Caesar’s and to God that which is God’s. Is this the deeper meaning? I think it is a deeper meaning. We must give what is due to people for their work and efforts and that includes the Government.
Surely there is something deeper.
Let’s see what comes up. Taxes can be seen as:
A hazing ritual for a big fraternity that you go through every year.
A thorn in the side of the masses that overcomes race, sex or religion to bind us all together as brothers.
An attempt to level the economic playing field but as in most things every one still yells “unfair”.
I like this last one because a lot of people see life as unfair and to them the tax system is unfair. What is fair? I think we all have a “fair” opportunity at life but the only reason I can say this is because I believe we chose to be here and we chose the type of life we were going to have.
Yes, I chose this. Thinking like that means I chose the taxes. If I chose the taxes to enter my life there must be a reason. My head hurts, I’m going to bed.
