Benefits in Problems

Posted by: Ann

April 22nd, 2010 >> EFT, Life, Meridian Tapping, Physical/Material

Play with me for a minute. Let us say that this universe, this world is a construct, a big hologram. Now let’s pretend that every thing in your life was put there by you in this holographic universe, how would you treat things differently?

Each piece of paper, each piece of clothing, each morsel of food was just a creation by you! What if every problem, every inconvenience, every catastrophe was put there by you for your benefit? Would you treat it differently? Would you start to look at it in a different light? Maybe you would start to see the benefit of the problem, or the inconvenience or even the catastrophe. I have had some events in my life that I would not take a million dollars to go through again but I also would not take a million dollars to give it up.

When something major happens in your life, look around, check to see if the event is actually to your benefit. You often can not see this if you are too close to the actual event, it often takes years to get enough distance from the trauma before you are able to look back and see the benefit.

EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) can be used to help you get past the emotion of the event so you can see the purpose, the benefit. EFT and other meridian therapies are great at getting your emotions back on even ground when you have been sliding down the cliff.

If you have been sliding down a rocky cliff, check into EFT and sign up for my monthly tapping routine at www.naturallyresilient.com

To Trust the Future or to Worry?

Posted by: Ann

April 20th, 2010 >> Life, Manifesting

I feel as though I am being given opportunities to practice trust. I have always thought of myself as a trusting individual, but lately I realize I am not. I do not trust the future. In not trusting the future, the path I am on, I am saying I do not trust God, I do not trust my choices, I do not trust myself.

Every thing is a reflection of yourself and where you are in life. If I can not trust ‘fate’ or ‘the Universe’ or ‘God’, that is just a mirror of not being able to trust myself. If I can not trust myself, no wonder I am worried about the future.

That reminds me of the movie Forrest Gump (Sapphire Series) [Blu-ray]. He was a person who did not worry. He had a lot of things that happened to him that could have been big areas for worry but the character was incapable of worry and it all worked out for him. But will it all work out for me? I think a lot of people are in the same area that I am, worried about what might happen, what could be, and of course all of it negative.

The ‘law of attraction’ says you get what you concentrate on, more to be worried about. I can swing my mood around and be very positive for a while but then like a rubber band I snap back to my old ways. I wish I could just be positive for a whole year and see what happens. I know that when I am positive, life seems to go a little smoother, I don’t get ruffled as easily. I will work on it.

Soul Mate Workshop Today

Posted by: Ann

April 17th, 2010 >> Life, Relationship

Today is my Soul Mate workshop. I think every one deserves and can have a special romantic relationship. I even believe that if your spouse, your love of your life dies, you can find another romantic soul mate if you so desire. Look at how many billions of people there are in the world. Surely there can be more than one special person for you. Don’t get me wrong, I am a firm believer in one at a time relationships. It takes energy and time to devote to a person and a special relationship. There is no room for two in such a partnership.

So if you are by yourself, and truly desire a romantic partner, don’t give up. Think positively and keep your eyes open for opportunity. When that opportunity comes you still have to act. You cannot sit there like a lump. Get up and do something. Go out there and enjoy life. When you are enjoying yourself you are more attractive and people will gravitate to you. Your special intended maybe one of the ones who will be attracted to you so always be aware.

Ahh Summer Air Conditioning

April 16th, 2010 >> Life, Physical/Material

It is starting to feel more like summer around here. The days are getting hotter in Central Texas. Even though summer doesn’t officially arrive until June 21, summer ‘officially’ arrives around here when you have to run the air conditioner all day to stay halfway comfortable. Every year I try to hold off as long as possible before turning it on. The air conditioner is the main cost of electricity and it can easily double your electric bill. We have ceiling fans in every room but the bathrooms and the kitchen, but just stirring the air does not help when the air itself is hot.

As a teen growing up in Houston, which has not only heat but humidity, there was a year when we had a major heat wave. I remember one day it got up to 114 and I had to go outside to see what 114 felt like. It felt like walking into a giant oven! It was suffocating.

I believe the South did not really become heavily populated until air-conditioning was invented. Have you ever been camping in 100 degree weather? It is not much fun. If you are from up north you may not have any idea what I am talking about.

Fresh out of college, I visited a friend and her family in New Hampshire in May. It was still pretty cool in New Hampshire at that time of year. Her father was planting tomatoes and I mentioned that my dad got his in early enough that he could have early summer tomatoes and then replant for early fall tomatoes. He had no idea what I was talking about. He could not get his mind around that the tomato plants would literally burn up in the heat of summer; wilt and die. I wonder if he even knew that tomatoes will not “set” (produce tomatoes) if the weather turns too hot.

I expect we still have a few more weeks before I absolutely, positively have to have the cool blowing 24 hours to live in the house.

Life Changes

April 13th, 2010 >> Change, Life

Have we gotten too busy? It is almost like we are living several lives in our one life of 70 or 80 years.

With divorce and remarriage we enter new relationships. Each relationship is there to teach us something. Sometimes it is the same lesson over and over until we finally get it or give up. Sometimes each relationship is totally different from the previous one. Our relationships are often our greatest spiritual growth tool while we are on this plane. Just 100 or 200 years ago, divorce was rare and someone was looked upon as defective if they left their spouse. That one relationship was meant to last a lifetime, until death do us part.

The same can be said about careers. People have no lifelong attachment to their employer mainly because the employer has no lifelong commitment to the employees. A hundred years ago, this was different, but now not only do we change jobs every few years but we also change careers every 5 – 10 years. Are you doing the same thing you were 10 years ago? Are you in the same line of work? Is it drastically different? Often it is. We can live several lives in one lifetime just by drastic changes in our career. This was unheard of 100 – 200 years ago.

What about where you live? I have heard the average American moves every 3 years! It may be next door or it may be across the nation or even internationally. Years ago people tended to live and die in the same town they were born in. I am amazed nowadays when I run into someone who has never been out of state or has always lived in the same town. I think that most American came from adventurous stock. We came here from other countries; seeking adventure, seeking a new way of life, looking for something we could not describe while our more sedate neighbors stayed rooted in the homeland. Therefore Americans do tend to move around more even today. We are not afraid of adventure, heck we often seek it! So we move. Pioneers moved west seeking a better life. Even today we move seeking a new and better place.

What kind of changes have been going on in your life in the last decade?

EFT for Pain Relief

Posted by: Ann

April 9th, 2010 >> EFT, Life, Meridian Tapping, Physical/Material

Yesterday I was at the Belton Senior Center to demonstrate the use of EFT for pain management. I had a person who had gone through a number of different diagnoses for his stiff, pointing fingers. It had been diagnosed by different doctors as degenerative arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and a form of gout. Doctors love to label things. If they can give it a name they can prescribe a medication. In his case the prescription was over-the-counter pain killers.

My usual mode of operation is to ask when the pain first started. In his case it was about six months before he retired. Bingo! Pain associated with getting old. I did a number of EFT rounds and the pain went from a 6 to a 4 to a 2 to a 1 and then 0. This told me that the pain was all emotionally based.

So many of our pains are caused by our emotions. We store our emotions in our bodies. Our body is shouting at us when we have pains and it shouts louder and louder until we cannot ignore it. Even medication starts to lose its effectiveness and you will find yourself taking more and stronger medications trying to smother the pain.

Doctors carry a lot of weight and authority. Often there is a lot of emotion attached to what a doctor tells you. When I see this man in two weeks and if his pain has returned we will address that and also that his dad had stiff fingers.

You can schedule a session with me for your pains. Go to www.naturallyresilient.com and sign up for a session or send me a comment to find out more.

Second Sight – Book Review Sunday

Second Sight: An Intuitive Psychiatrist Tells Her Extraordinary Story and Shows You How To Tap Your Own Inner Wisdom by Judith Orloff, M.D. is a biography of her life and insights along the way. Don’t let the word biography scare you. This is anything but dull dry reading. I was fascinated throughout the book. I enjoyed it so much that I had to buy a second book because my husband wanted to read it at the same time and I would not let go of the book! Judith is a medical intuitive. Her premonitions as a child had scared her and she tried hard to rebel against them. Her mother was very strong willed and was alarmed at the premonitions that her daughter had. Judith finally came to terms with her ability and learned how to incorporate it into her medical practice even though years of medical school tried to squelch it out of her. Judith has great pointers on developing and using intuition. Even though she has always had a natural ability in this area, her insights have helped me in developing my own intuition. This is a fascinating read, however if you read it before going to sleep you may discover the clock is reading 2:00am and you still don’t want to put the book down. I think I will read this one again.

Do You Talk To Your Spirit Guides?

Posted by: Ann

April 3rd, 2010 >> Guides, Life, Spirituality

OK, I talk to my spiritual guides, I admit it. These are the spirits on the other side of the veil who are here to help you through this life. Our interaction reminds me of a game I once participated in. This activity involved groups of two. One person is blindfolded and the other is the guide. A bunch of colored balls are scattered around the floor. Each team is assigned a specific color ball to collect. The non blind folded person has to tell the blind folded partner which direction to turn, when to bend down, where the ball is for them to pickup and they also make sure their partner walks around the scattered balls so they won’t slip on one and fall down. All this is going on with several teams playing at the same time. The blind folded partner must listen carefully to hear their partner’s instructions over the other noise and then follow the instructions so they don’t run into someone or step on a ball. The guide may not touch the blind person.

This is often how I feel when I communicate with my guides. There is often noise and distractions going on and I have a hard time hearing them. Other time, I feel so distant from them and communication just doesn’t happen. But some times the line is clear and I can ask questions and get answers. Some times we have some deep conversations, other times I just whine and complain. They seem to be patient with me.

How do I know they are really there and it not just my imagination? For one thing the answers come a lot quicker than when I have to think up an answer. It is like the answer is right there as soon as I ask the question. When I answer my own questions, I have to think and mull it over a while. The answers my guides provide usually take me by surprise; they are not answers I anticipate. Another thing that makes me believe in them is the little things that I ask from them that are performed. For example I met some one who consults your spirit guides to creates special necklaces just for you. I purchases one from her then unbeknownst to her I asked my guides to include a blue stone on my necklace as I like blue and turquoise sprang to mind. But I did not want to limit what my guides would do as each stone has different properties and purposes so I told them turquoise would be nice but any blue stone would be good. When I received the necklace there was my turquoise interspersed among amethyst! The person who made the necklace later told me that there was a debate going on between using the turquoise or another blue stone and the turquoise won.

The world is so much more interesting when you realize there is more depth to life than what we see here on this plane. Just remember you have help. You just need to ask.

What do You Expect From Life?

Posted by: Ann

April 2nd, 2010 >> Energy, Life, Manifesting, Spirituality

Often people expect nothing and that is just what they get, nothing. When you say your affirmations and that little nagging voice comes up and says ‘yes, but….’ That means you really expect nothing so you get nothing and your perception is that the affirmation doesn’t work. But the affirmation is working perfectly…. You are getting nothing! It also works that when you expect little you get little.

How to overcome this? Live expectantly. Be ready to receive. Something is always happening behind the scenes, you are not always able to see what is going on. So expect great things. Don’t live your life thinking “I won’t get my hopes up so I won’t be disappointed”. Thinking like that will cause your hopes to be dashed faster than anything. Live your life expecting great gifts from God, the Universe, or whatever you call your higher power. When you live expectantly, the future looks brighter; you are in an excited, anticipatory state. Living in this state will cause the universe to accommodate, creating more reasons to have this exited, anticipatory state.

So what do you expect?

Anti-Aging Technique

March 30th, 2010 >> EFT, Life, Meridian Tapping, Physical/Material

Yesterday I wrote about how we bring judgment onto ourselves in the form of dis-ease. I am not sure I was clear about this being on the emotional level. Our emotions affect our bodies. When our emotions are negative for a long time our bodies respond, chemicals are produced, blood pressure changes and we can literally get sick. Think of the person who gets very angry. They get red in the face, the vein on the neck may stand out, and their blood pressure goes up. Our emotions affect our bodies.

When our emotions are strong for a long period of time, such as months or maybe even years, our body changes. Chemical changes occur and we get sick.

If we could just keep our emotions from turning negative so easily or often, we would stay healthy. It makes sense to me that we should be healthy. Our bodies rejuvenate themselves so that we have a new body every 7 years. You are not in the same body as you had seven years ago. So why does it age? Why does it deteriorate with age? It is because we are affected by our negative emotions.

Look around you. Look at people in their 60’s. You will see a wide range of health. Some are very active and in great shape others are bent over and crippled. I bet it has to do with how each internalizes their emotions.

What better way to clear out old unwanted emotions but with EFT. If you would just tap on yourself every evening before going to bed for any emotions that came up during the day you would be in much better shape as you age. What a great anti-aging program!
