The Celestine Prophecy – Book Review Sunday

I am venturing into the fiction department for today’s book review. Although this book is fiction, there is a lot of truth in the book. James Redfield has a lot of insight into human nature and where humanity is going and in The Celestine Prophecy
he puts this insight to use through ‘insights’. The book goes into the coincidences that help shape our lives. But the main thrust of the book is the 9 insights, each one building on the other. I won’t tell you what they are here but I will tell you of the one that made the most impression on me.
The fifth insight talks about clearing the past. This involves looking at your childhood and how your parents acted and reacted. By looking at what each of your parents stood for you can determine your own life work. The Celestine Prophecy states “Every human being, whether they are conscious of it or not illustrates with their lives how he or she thinks a human being is supposed to live”. In the book the main character’s father believed that life was for fun and enjoyment but he had not been able to actually succeed in that area. The character’s mother stood for Christian principles. He was then asked what he would change about his mother and father. This is an important question as that ends up being what he is here to accomplish. To quote the book again, “That’s why you were born there: to take a higher perspective on what they stood for. Your path is about discovering a truth that is a higher synthesis of what these two people believed.” This led the main character to realize he would find real meaning in his life through combining the two approaches to life.
This got me thinking about my life and my parents. Now I feel much clearer on what I am to do in this life. It was a very interesting exercise. The whole book is like this. It introduces different insights into where we are individually and as a world society but it tells it through a fun read as a fiction story.
Live In the Now

Have you noticed that when you have bought a new car all of a sudden you see hundreds of that same car and color on the road? Or when you are expecting, every woman you see looks pregnant. Well the same thing is happening to me. No I am not pregnant nor have I bought a new car, but a new idea has been introduced to me and I am seeing it every where. I have heard that when an idea presents itself to you in 3 different ways that you need to sit up and take notice because it is the truth.
What is this great truth? It is living in the now. It has really been brought home to me through Eckhart Tolle’s book The Power of Now: A Guide to Spiritual Enlightenment. But I keep bumping into the concept. Just last Sunday I ran into this reading Job. Job is a character who loses everything but his nagging wife. He has even lost his health. Three friends come to commiserate with him and give their ill advice. A 4th person pops in and puts his 2 cents in (I think he had the best advice) then God interrupts and says to be content and to basically live in the now. That is what I read. Read it yourself, it’s in the Bible.
If you live in the now, even in your misery, you have the chance to feel the river of life, that life giving force that runs through all things. If you can feel that flow of contentment and energy, you will feel hope. If you feel hope, you will be more positive. If you become more positive, the law of attraction will accommodate and things will get better.
The alternative is to dwell in your misery and your “poor me” attitude and live on the surface, never feeling the flow of life that is always there. If you live in the misery at the surface you are actually stifling the flow. If the flow is stifled you will attract more that will stifle the flow. The law of attraction works both ways.
The Flowing River of Life

I have heard so many connections between rivers, the spirit and energy lately that I wanted to write something about it.
In dream symbology, flowing water symbolizes the spirit moving.
In the Bible Jesus spoke of living water several times and in John 7:39 it says “When he said ‘living water,’ he was speaking of the Spirit, who would be given to everyone believing in him…” (New Living Translation). (I am not going to get into what ‘believing in him’ means that is a whole different theological treatise.)
My Feb. 18, 2010 blog speaks of the energy in all things that ‘flows’ through all things connecting all things.
All of these are talking about the same thing: the energy of life, the life force.
To be in your true spirit, your true self, the energy of life must be flowing through you.
You may think you have the energy of life in you but most of us are only living partial lives. We are stagnate ponds not fresh flowing rivers. As a stagnate pond we have no outlet and little inlet. We have the possibility of drying up or as I like to say “having been dead before you die”.
When the river of life flows through you, your energy level is high and you are free to be all you can be. With all that energy behind you nothing can hold you back and you can manifest abundance.
I have been practicing feeling the flow and I found that I am usually constricted or stagnant. But I am working on it and I know that the more open state will eventually become my normal state. Let the energy come!
Manifesting – Put Energy Into It

Thursday I wrote about the energy flowing through life. I wanted to touch on that again today.
My husband often says he puts energy into things to make something happen. There may be a piece of equipment that is acting up and he will give his magic touch and ‘presto’ it will start to work! We call it the “Midas Touch”.
My son has that touch. When he was 4 we were visiting friends. Jesse and Teresa, their 4 year old were playing in her room when we heard discord. Teresa’s mom and I went to investigate. The girl had a broken tape recorder and Jesse was fiddling with it. Teresa kept telling him to leave it alone that it was broken. Becky, the mother, told me it had been broken for a while. Jesse would not leave it alone. Then he pressed a button and it started to play! Teresa and her mom were shocked.
Other times there maybe something that my husband wants to accomplish. He will set a goal and “put energy into it” and it will happen. About a year ago he decided he would make $20,000 in one month. His usual take was about $8,000 to $12,000. He made the $20,000 but it was not in the way he was expecting. When I ask him how he does these things he just says, “I put energy into it”. He then tries to get me to put energy into what I do, but I don’t have a clue as to what he is talking about.
I think I may now have a clue.
What is going on? I believe he is using the flow of life energy and like a river he is diverting the flow to where he wants it. That flow carries what he wants to him.
EFT vs. Meridian Therapies

February 19th, 2010 >> EFT, Energy, Meridian Tapping, Physical/Material, Vibration
I had an interesting client last Sunday. This one was suppose to be an EFT session for back pain. I often have great results using EFT for back pain. We tend to carry a lot of emotional baggage in our backs. EFT is great at getting rid of the emotional baggage. I often start with addressing the pain itself and when movement starts to slow or ceases I will delve deeper to try and uncover emotional reasons for the pain. Often addressing the pain itself is all that is required.
I did get some movement addressing the pain itself. It went from an intensity of 6 to a 4 but then it seemed to stall. I probed for emotional reasons and soon found several possibilities. But addressing each of these were not getting the results I thought we should be seeing. She then told me that the tapping on the side of her hand (the KC point, see my page on Tapping Points) was sending tingles down her body .
I started tapping on various other points and asking if she felt energy with them. I found that the points corresponding to the small intestine and the triple warmer points created sensations. I decided to clear and trace the corresponding meridians.
After finishing her right side, she said the right side was feeling good and all the pain was now on her left side. So I ran the meridians on her left side.
She was feeling pretty good after that. She could do some of her yoga positions that she could not do when she came in. I thought it was interesting that flushing and tracing the meridians cleared the pain.
Tuesday I wrote about going with the ups and downs of life and letting them happen. There is another aspect of this that I wanted to discuss.
Life is an energetic force. Everything has energy. This energy is not static in things where it sits, making itself at home, rather it is actually a flow. This energy flows through all things, connecting all things. The flow of this energy is what allows manifesting.
If the energy is flowing in your life, you are connected to all things and what you want will flow to you through this river of energy. The inability to manifest is due to a blockage or stoppage of the flow.
When I learned this, I started feeling for the energy. Yes I could feel it and yes I was blocking the flow. It has been hard to unblock that flow. I keep practicing and the more I can feel it flowing the easier (I hope) it will get. I believe many of us block the flow. I have heard that the life force energy of humanity in general is very low and I believe this is because we are blocking our flow.
Check in with yourself. Can you feel the energy flowing?
To be able to feel the river of energy flowing a person needs to feel safe and loved. This is a hard one. Even though we do not have to contend with saber-tooth lions or warring clansmen we do have to contend with next months bills and personal relationships that have gone awry. Worries and fears can stop the flow. If your flow is blocked there is hope.
To unstop the flow and get the river flowing, practice living in the present. At this moment, are you safe? Feel it! Feel the love in the moment. The next step is to acknowledge that life is good. Again be in the moment and feel it! The third step is to know that good things are coming your way. And then watch for good things to show up.
Practice this several times a day. I will be working on this myself.
I have heard that if an idea comes to you from three different sources it is spirit trying to show you a truth. I have had the same basic idea come to me by three methods last week. One was through a teleseminar I was listening to; the second time was in a book I was reading. I was consciously waiting for the third time to show up because I felt it was coming. The third time came at church Sunday.
What was this idea? It has to do with the flow of energy or some might say the flow of life.
Life has ebbs and tides and you have to let it come and go. We often ‘buck the flow’. This is such a common thing that we have many sayings for it: kick against the pricks, ruffle his feathers, and rub the cat the wrong way. All are referring to life and trying to work against what is happening.
Life has its lows and its highs. We would all like to be on the high side as much as possible and that is why we try so hard to fight the lows. If we would realize that life is constantly changing the lows will not be so hard to handle. We need to learn to let go and ride with the flow of life. The lows will not last forever and neither will the highs.
Enjoy the highs while they are here but also realize the lows also will pass.
If we fight the lows when they appear, we end up prolonging them. It is almost like our lows have to reach their lowest point before our life can head back upwards. If we fight the lows, it takes a lot longer to get to the bottom of things and we end up suffering longer. Just remember that the lows are times for us to rest and take stock of where we are and where we are headed. Live the moment and feel the moment whether it is a high or a low and life will go smoother.
There is a whole other section on this flow that I will cover on Thursday.
Paradox In The Garden

February 13th, 2010 >> EFT, Energy, God, Manifesting, Meridian Tapping, Relationship, Spirituality
I was thinking about the Garden of Eden story today. There are two points I wish to make.
The 1st is a rather simple statement. If you have no knowledge of good or evil, then you would not understand that eating what you are told not to eat is evil and not good?
The 2nd is viewing the whole story as allegorical. I got this idea from my dear husband.
The Garden can be viewed as Abundance. Adam and Eve were living in abundance, they had everything they could want or need. The eating of the fruit of the knowledge of good and evil is the awakening of the idea of scarcity into their lives. If you live with the mindset of scarcity you can no longer live in abundance. The two cannot coexist in the same mind. You are either living out of scarcity or living out of abundance. When they shifted to scarcity, they saw they were lacking, they hid because they were naked (lacking). So they had to leave the Garden – abundance.
God is abundance, God is the energy of the universe and so God is all things. When Adam and Eve experienced scarcity they also experienced a loss of the intimate relationship with God because abundance and scarcity cannot coexist.
This Garden of Eden is actually a mindset. We can go (and are going) back there but we must first release this concept of scarcity so we are free to embrace the abundance. It is very hard to release scarcity. We see it every time we pay bills at the beginning of the month. We see it every time we go to the grocery store and see a limited amount of cans on the shelves. We experience scarcity every time we turn on the TV news. As long as we see scarcity we are still in scarcity.
How can we overcome this mindset?
Express gratitude in all you see and experience. Be grateful even for the “problems” in your life, as you don’t know what benefits they will provide you.
Use affirmations about the future but phrase it in current terms such as “I have plenty to share”.
See abundance in your life where you have it. Is it friends, is it love, is it money, is it time? What ever it is, rejoice in it.
Use EFT or Meridian Tapping to help you get rid of the negative emotional obstacles in your life. If you don’t know about this check into www.naturallyresilient.com
Even though I do not watch the news (too much negativity) I have been hearing about Haiti and all that is going on. Everywhere I turn people are taking some kind of collection for them. If the supplies can get through the corrupt government without ending up on the local black market, the people should have quite a few supplies to help them out.
What they do not have is help with their emotional scars. What kind of emotional turmoil would such devastation do to a people, an individual? If you suddenly lost all your family, all your friends, your home, how well would you cope. We get upset when the dog dies. Would we curl up and die? No, we would learn to cope, we would get through it. The end of the world would be upon us but we would continue.
There is something we can do for the emotional turmoil in the area. We can send love and peace. We can do that by intentionally radiating the positive emotions toward the people affected. Sit for a minute and think on Haiti. Then feel peace and send that to them. Then feel calm and send that. Then feel love and send that. Think of the change that could occur if 1000 people sent such good intentions to them.
If you do EFT tapping or Meridian Tapping, try tapping out the emotions as you send them. You know what will happen don’t you? You will start to feel the peace, the calm and the love. You cannot send emotions without feeling them yourself.
Depression Removes Your Passion

Yesterday I talked about passion and how every one must live their passion.
I can think about one group of people who do not have passion — they have lost it. It reminds me of the Golden Compass where every one had an animal familiar attached to them but when the familiar was “detached” from them they were lost, incapacitated, did not know what to do. To me that describes a depressed person because they have lost their passion.
I can talk about this because I went through a year of depression myself. It is difficult. You do not see any sense in life. No activity really makes sense. There is no hope.
In my case the cause was unacknowledged anger. I did a lot of self-help and inner child work at that time because I remembered feeling different and knew I could feel different. I finally stumbled on a section in a workbook that said to write a letter to some one you are mad at. I could not think of any one but decided to write a letter to some one who just popped into my mind. There is a reason things pop into your mind at specific times.
I did not know I had so much pent up anger. But boy did I feel good afterwards. I did 5 loads of laundry, cleaned two bathrooms, mopped the floor and went for a walk!
It is funny, even though the depression had left, I still felt like the depression was the truth and the life I was now living was a lie. It was almost like a wet blanket was thrown over the smoldering coals, but the coals were still smoldering. It did take several more years to totally smother those burning coals.
I did not know about EFT or Meridian Tapping at that time. If I had I believe the depression would have left faster with no smoldering coals below the surface.
If you have depression, check out my website and book a session. Depression is one of those deep issues that may take more than one session. www.naturallyresilient.com
